Autumn
by heyday
In the spring of us we were the freshness of
what's passed
as we held the our hands showing no bluffs ,but winners at last we saw no hint of a gamble in the die that were already cast but now it is the coolness of our fall where it ended it so fast As a leaf now, drifting upon the whim of a
newly chilled air
pushed away painfully from you who Ihad so much to share and even as I am controlled now by harsh winds of despair you stand tall and unbent showing not even that you care Though I still appear as I lived in the
summer of our season
inside I grow brittle and brown from the effects of such treason of having been cast off uncaringly , while never given a reason as to why your promised bonds lacked the slightest adhesion Where once we were happy together
sharing the warmth of our love
I was at home in your heart listening to it's music as pure as the dove so that my life was a music sweet and assuring as that from above expecteing not the cooling of the days when push came to shove Oh, to see again the freshness of our spring where we dwelled with flowers or those languid summer days, to have yet again just one of those hours as I become mired in the mud soaked by such miserably stark showers I know my insignificance as I submit without fight to miserably dark powers. You care not my looming winter days to be frozen in a muddy mire feeling no remorse that you dumped me there lacking my stolen desire understanding not that the ice you will on days ahead surely aquire will hide from you my warmthness that once maintained your fire |
