Last Petition by heyday
All I ever dreamed was to be a good thing in
your life; to be a good man for making such a great wife. To be a
father your children would be proud to call dad; to gently comfort them
and coax a smile when sad
To live a life unblemished in their
perceptive eyes; doing not the things needing the cover of
lies.
To sit with you in church on hard wooden pews; a sinful life to always
refuse.
To stand beside you in a warm gentle rain; to bring you
pleasure, to cause you no
pain.
To understand you, loving your secrets you can't share; and never
loving you less for any hidden things you might air.
To never
betray you, to be with you proper and right; to bring you not
disappointement,but expectant
delight.
To never judge you,to admire and respect whatever might be your goal;
to sacrifice willingly my needs for the desires of your
soul.
Yet, your faith in me faltered and wavered and
sputtered in doubt;, so that you decided you and your family would be
better off without.. Be it known, to your wishes I am fervently your
humble subject;. To any request, no matter my sorrow, I shall not
object..
If I you must be a painful memory
to be purposely buried in the past;. Then this respectful petition to
you shall be my
last..
If you've gifted me with your last word, so that you waste not a
reply; then I shall suffer silently, I'll not burden you if I weakly
cry.
But, if you can remember that there's good in me
too,
a sweetness known but to few,but yet given to
you;
Then I ask to renew our friendship
today,
we can start fresh and go on our way.
But, alas,my real love for you insists for me to
willingly let you go; free to determine your own gardens in which to
grow.
And if it's true I can never again be your
friend;
then I, sadly but graciously, must then let
it end
Be it known, to your wishes I am fervently your
humble subject;. To any request, no matter my sorrow, I shall not
object.
If you must be a painful memory to be buried in the past;. Then this
respectful petition to you shall be my last.
If you've gifted me with your last word, so that
you waste not a reply then I shall suffer silently, I'll not burden you
if I weakly
cry.
Only you may know if these be the last thoughts I'll ever share for
your
review
or if once again our friendship you will ever live freely in joy
