Recap is Back: Two Spots Left

(Week 12) The big matchup of the week pitted two of the top teams against each other with playoff dreams hanging in the balance. The Rocko Bengals going into the game 7-4 did not neccessarily need a win against the Wannabes, but Wisconsin (6-4-1, going into the game) sure needed a win in order to keep from falling out of realistic playoff contention.

Rocko couldn't get their running game going at all against the Wannabe's, but like all season when the running game didn't work, they pitched it up in the air. The Bengals had a huge game out of C. Johnson to jump out to seven point lead going into Monday night's game where Wisconsin's hopes of winning the game fell upon A. Toomer's slippery fingers. Toomer had all the opportunites, as Maddox tried time and time again to get the ball in the hands of Toomer, only for him to drop the potentially game winning TD's off his fingertips.

Wisconsin falls to 6-5-1 and still needs a win or two to secure a playoff spot and the competition doesn't get any easier. Wisconsin plays Rhode Island in week 13 and then takes on the league leading Kalamazoo Vikings. Rocko, now 8-4, has the same remaining schedule with Kalamazoo in week 13 and Rhode Island to finish the season up before possibly making another run at the Bribin Cup.

Seattle 99, Benton Harbor 70
Seattle needed a win in week 12 to secure a playoff spot and they came through with the "W". Seattle didn't have breakout games from any of their players, but Tomlinson and Faulk played like they were supose to and scored double digits for the Slugs. Benton Harbor had a good day out of their wide-recievers, but was slowed up by their lack of running game. The Hoodlems have been decimated at runningback in recent weeks with injuries to top RB, Charlie Garner leading the list of the injured. Seattle still has a small hope if they continue to win of still capturing the President's trophy if Kalamazoo falters in the coming two weeks.

Kalamazoo 108, Rhode Island 48
This was a big game for the Ridicule as they were looking to stop the Vikings undefeated season and to keep their playoff hopes alive. Instead, Rhode Island put together one of their most disappointing games in recent memory. The Vikings on the other-hand continued to put together a starting lineup that is hard to beat. Big games from Edgerrin James, and A. Boldin saved Kalamazoo's undefeated season. The Vikings have two tough matchups coming up against Rocko and then finishing up in Wisconsin. The Ridicule faces the same competition giving them a tough road to repeat as champions.

Timbuktu 94, Detroit 75
Timbuktu came out on top in the battle for these two team's slight playoff hopes. Both teams needed this win, or faced having their playoff contention hopes squashed. Timbuktu rode their defense and heroic efforts out of W. Dunn just before he was lost for the season. Detroit's disappointing season continued and the once decent backup, Bledsoe, continues to hold the Drive's hopes back. Tumbuktu kept their playoff hopes alive with Rocko's victory over Wisconsin, and W. Palm Beach's loss to N. Michigan.

N. Michigan 93, W. Palm Beach 71
The Yoopers have been continueing to improve every week and finally grabbed their second win of the season, very well deserved. The Yoopers had a huge game out of J. Kitna and even scored close to a hundred points without their best reciever D. Jackson sitting on the bench. W. Palm Beach is still grumbling over their coach's decision to bench their most decorated quarterback who on the bench scored five touchdowns which would have been enough to put the Chad's playoff hopes on more secure footing. They will now need a lot of help if they hope to make it to the promised land in their second season. The story out of Marquette is that their is still a big party going on up there after the victory. Some Yooper fans that are not drunk off their logs are worried that N. Michigan's players will be too drunk to put up back to back victories in week 13.

England 107, Green Bay 45
Green Bay had high hopes entering this season and with a hot start most of the league was starting to wonder if the Fudgepackers had it in them to make a run at the playoffs. Times have changed and Green Bay is falling back into their old ways and now with this loss look toward next season to try and make their first winning season a reality. England on the otherhand is on the brink of securing their first playoff spot in only their second season. McAllister is leading the charge of the Teasers, while S. McNair is leading the air attack. With a favorable remaining schedule, there looks to be a week 15 game in store for our friends across the pond.

Coach of the Week: Rhode Island Ridicule
Player of the Week: Chad Johnson (WR-Roc)
