Wanna Recount?

(Week 1) The Wannabes are still trying to figure out what happened. The Chads of W. Palm Beach made a statement this week that they were not going to be left out of the title hunt. W. Palm Beach sits atop the standings thanks to a 127 point day in route to shocking the Wisconsin Wannabe's in the season opener. The Chads had a big game from their wide recievers and Clinton Portis as the four of them combined for 79 of W. Palm Beach's total.

The Wannabes leaders of Maddox (23pts) and Holmes (27pts) seemed to be the only ones that felt that week 1 was important. Wisconsin was thought to have lost a step at quarterback this offseason when the Wannabes dealt Brett Farve, but Maddox and backup Harrington had huge games making owner Sue feel more comfortable about her offseason move.

"I'm tired of this losing," Ms. Conn stated, "After that tragic loss in the PWFBL Championship game I though I scheduling gods looked down at me handing me WPB. I mean, they were in the last grouping and I thought I had this game in the bag. I guess that is why we play the games."
The schedule looks to get even easier for the Wannabes, but nothing seems to be for sure in this league. Unless you're talking about the Green Bay Fudgepackers, Wisconsin's next opponant. If they drop their next game and go 0-2, Sue has to wonder if she's going to have a chance at a 4th straight trip to the playoffs. W. Palm Beach takes on the always powerful Seattle in Week 2.

Kalamazoo 114, Rhode Island 81
The Champs started off their season with one of the toughest franchises in the league, but didn't have enough to get past the Puck Bowl II champion Kalamazoo Vikings. Kalamazoo overcame a coaching blunder at quarterback with big games from Horn and newly acquired Moss and then let their runningback machine run out the clock. Kalamazoo continues their tough start next week when they face the other participate in Puck Bowl IV, the Rocko Bengals. The Ridicule look to bounce back against expansion Northern Michigan.

Timbuktu 91, Detroit 82
With Timbuktu owner Jock in the hospital leading up to and through this matchup and Detroit owner Bob off on his honeymoon, no one gained an advantage on either's absence. Detroit took an early 30 point lead going into Monday's matchups. That was quickly dissolved by the Buccaneers ralling with the news that their leader made it through surgery successfully. The Drive however fell flat on their face, after they found out that owner Bob was traveling the Atlantic on a cruise ship while they slaved at practice all week. Detroit looks to bounce back against Benton Harbor in week 2, as Timbuktu looks to ride the wave of excitement as they take on a confused England team.

Seattle 85, England 36
After such a promising build up by our President in his picks, England thought even taking on perrenial powerhouse Seattle wouldn't be a problem. They were sadly mistaken. The Teasers put together one of the most awful outings in league history. Seattle was more than happy to take the win, especially when they did not perform up to Slug standards. Both Faulk and Tomlinson failed to reach double digit numbers which is a rarity in the Slug Nation, however Seattle has to be please w/ their 14th round selection, Doug Johnson who scored the most points for the Slugs this week. The surprising part was that he is a quarterback.

Benton Harbor 73, Northern Michigan 51
The Yoopers' first game in PWFFL didn't go as smoothly as planned. The Hoodlems ruined the grand opening of N. Michigan's new stadium, the Yoopersphere. Herald rookie sensation O. Smith couldn't find the new stadium and really got the blood of his coach boiling as he didn't have anyone to plug in on such short notice. Benton Harbor got a huge game out of Charlie Garner to pad their lead and start the season on a nice note.

Rocko 84, Green Bay 57
After coming off a devastating Puck Bowl loss last year, the Rocko Bengals looked to bounce back into things by playing the lowly Fudgepackers. The Bengals came away with their fifth straight regular season win and weathered the storm of Green Bay's only real threat, Ahman Green (22pts). The Fudgepackers are looking forward to another long season if week 1 was any indication of how they will play throughout the season.

Coach of the Week: Timbuktu Buccaneers
Player of the Week: Priest Holmes (RB-Wis)
