Top 40 (format that sells the most albums). She should have left when label slime (who'd never heard it) lied about/slammed her new album in a made-up "leak" to the New York media, before it was even released.
True, Shania has to care about this herself -- nobody else is going to. But she also has to know what is really happening, and for the most part, she has not. Label non-support has been a longstanding problem, but the intentionality and extent of behavior has more recently come to light. Further, it is her management's job to monitor and address such career-related media and label issues for her... but that firm has also recently abdicated their responsibilities and not demanded that the label perform, or inform them she's leaving... Shania should start her own label with its own dedicated sales, marketing, and promo staff. Mercury/Universal has blatently and repeatedly "breached" her contract. They won't promote her singles, won't lower too-high prices for her CDs or DVDs at retail, and now won't even pay for actual videos. Universal's promised "price cut" has still not been implemented at 90% of music retail, in
particular for her albums. Some of her catalog is still selling for $19-20. Her lawyers should demand an audit of label's books to see where all of the money is going. Other artists are getting millions of dollars in marketing, promo, and advertising with literally ten times the support. Label has spent nothing except for videos, but that's simply a loan. Shania's pays for her own -- all video costs were recouped a year ago for any possible videos from this album. The only Universal Music promotion out of Nashville or New York is for other artists, that sell little to nothing, but using money from her profits. She's still the most profitable artist in music (more sales per radio spin or TV exposure) but she has essentially no radio (or videoplay). She needs a "professional" label: competitive pricing, retail, radio and media promotion, actual concept videos, proper singles selection, timing, and some semblance of strategic marketing... and management that actually cares about Shania as a person and performer (rather than worry about what their cut was for this album or other favored clients. They signed a contract too, though they were in fact hired too late for this release). No artist can survive an inept unethical label trying to ruin a career by intentional omission and neglect.

A ROCKET scientist may not impress singer Shania Twain much, but a Holme Valley practitioner certainly did! Adam Wilkey, a chiropractor, cured country singer Shania of her back pain as she prepared to perform for her show in Manchester. The star, famous for such songs such as Don't Be Stupid and That Don't Impress Me Much, was considering pulling out of the
performance. But a call to Adam, 39, ensured that the show went on. He said : "She was great. "She had been to a chiropractor before so she knew exactly what needed to be done and where."She was very compliant and was a very nice lady." The treatment involves the manipulation of bones and muscles by the chiropractor, particularly in the spine and neck."It is our job to get things functioning properly - like a mechanic," said Adam.Shania is in the middle of a big tour.During her show, she constantly bends down, signs autographs, shakes hands and pulls fans up on stage, which can put a strain on the muscles and bones.Shania sent Adam a signed autograph and two front-row tickets for her show as she was so happy with his work.Adam is married to Esther and lives in Thongsbridge. He has six children, aged from 17 to two and works at his practice in Pudsey.Adam has worked as a chiropractor for 16 years, previously based in Oldham. While there he became the official chiropractor at the Manchester Evening News Arena. As such he has worked on a lot of stars, of the '70s, '80s and '90s, none of which he can mention because of client confidentiality.
He was able to speak about Shania as she gave him permission.

Former Claymores star Dante Hall has snubbed Shania Twain to visit
his fans in Scotland.
The Kansas City Chiefs kick returner, the Claymores' first NFL superstar, will be inducted into the club's Hall of Fame before their Hampden clash with the Amsterdam Admirals on Sunday.Hall had a sensational season with the Chiefs, broke an NFL record by returning four kick-offs for touchdowns and was named to the all-star Pro Bowl team for the second year in a row.The NFL Special Teams' player of the year has been a guest on the David Letterman show, the Chiefs sold over 50,000 of his No.82 shirts and he is recognised on the street in major US cities.
His every move in Scotland is being recorded by NFL Films for broadcast back in the States and he revealed how he turned down the chance to present an award at the Country Music Television awards in Nashville with Shania to visit old haunts such as Stirling and the training ground at Stepps.Hall, 25, who played for the Claymores in2001, said: 'The debt I owe to the Claymores and Scotland is enormous and it's why I'm here this week I could be sitting with Shania Twain in Nashville.'It's amazing to think I was insulted when the Chiefs first asked me to go to Scotland three years ago because I took it to mean they didn't think I was good enough to play for them.'Only now, when I look back on my whole time here, can I appreciate how much it helped me to develop on and off the field and why they wanted me to come here.'I was a guy with a bad reputation and a bad attitude but no more. I grew up so much as a person and a player and Scotland stopped me being so closed-minded.' The Claymores have lost their first two games on the road and are desperate for a win over the Admirals. Hall said: 'I'm tempted to suit up and lend a hand because there's so little room for error in the NFL Europe League.'But I'm confident they can do it and I'm looking forward to meeting up with the fans again at the game.'
