SYNOPSIS

  • Inside Peggy's office at Wonderfalls, Jaye "tortures" a wax lion by melting it on a hotplate. She wants to know why the inanimate objects forced her to make Eric remarry Heidi, but her mission is interrupted by Alec, who says her work break is over. Later Karen stops by with a brass monkey she found in Aaron's bedroom. She asks Jaye to make another appointment with Dr. Ron so she can give the monkey back to him. A repairman attempting to fix the mold-o-rama machine dumps a dozen wax lions on the counter. Jaye suddenly snaps and begins smashing the lions with the brass monkey. Karen and the repairman wrestle Jaye to the ground.

Sharon escorts Jaye to Dr. Ron's office to make sure she stays for the entire one-hour session. During the meeting the brass monkey speaks to Jaye, and she talks back, demanding answers to previous questions. Dr. Ron witnesses this and asks for an explanation. He grows increasingly concerned when Jaye says the monkey doesn't care who he hurts as long as he's hurting her. Unbeknownst to either of them, the session is being monitored by a mysterious person who has accessed the security cameras in Dr. Ron's office. Later Jaye has dinner at the Barrel with her mother and father. Eric and Heidi are also there, having a drink. Jaye leaves the table to commiserate with Mahandra in the back room. Heidi walks in and announces that Eric has quit his job and they're both moving to New Jersey. Meanwhile Karen approaches Eric and asks if he knows why Jaye has been so upset lately. Eric lies and claims he doesn't know. Later Eric tells Heidi that he didn't quit: he gave his two-week notice. He tells Heidi to return home, but she refuses, given Eric's proximity to Jaye. Heidi tells Jaye she'll retaliate if she decides to make a move on Eric. Suddenly a cocktail bunny on a case of cherry cocktails springs to life. It tells Jaye to "save him from her."

Mahandra makes her way to Aaron's room, which has been altered into a shrine containing inanimate objects shaped like animals. Mahandra wonders what Aaron is up to. He tells her he's writing a thesis on animal totems. Suddenly Jaye shows up, and Mahandra hides in Aaron's closet. An outraged Jaye begins stuffing the animals into a pillowcase. She brings the animals to her trailer, where she again demands answers about Eric and Heidi. A lion figure tells her to "ask the monkey." Jaye makes her way to Dr. Ron's office to retrieve the brass monkey. Dr. Ron catches her in the act. The brass monkey tells Jaye, "she's going to kill him."

Jaye and Mahandra discuss the monkey's prophecy. Jaye comes to believe that Heidi plans on killing Eric. She performs some research online and discovers that Heidi was suspected of poisoning some rivals in a college homecoming competition, strengthening her conviction about Heidi's evil intentions. Jaye begins performing surveillance on Heidi, taking photographs from afar. Later Jaye and Mahandra sneak into the honeymoon suite where Heidi and Eric are staying. They look for clues to support Jaye's theory. Meanwhile Heidi sneaks into Jaye's trailer. She finds a photograph of Jaye and Eric together and promptly rips it in half. Karen stops by and slips one of Dr. Ron's business cards under Jaye's front door. Heidi glances at the card. Meanwhile, at his office, Dr. Ron senses something's afoot when he notices some of his surveillance DVDs missing. At Wonderfalls Heidi confronts Jaye with the surveillance photos Jaye took of her. A lion figure suddenly animates. It says, "she's going to kill him," and it adds, "don't let her leave." Jaye pounces on Heidi, and moments later, Detective Sloan steps forward and tells Jaye he has a few questions for her.

Sloan meets with Jaye and Sharon to discuss his criminal investigation. He tells Jaye her fingerprint was found in Dr. Ron's office, which he labels a "crime scene." Sloan accuses Jaye of stealing the surveillance DVDs from Dr. Ron. Jaye insists she's innocent and blames the theft on Heidi. She suddenly realizes Eric is in great danger. Meanwhile, at the honeymoon suite, someone replaces one of Eric's vitamins with a square blue pill.

At Wonderfalls Sharon begs Sloan not to arrest Jaye because she's not a flight risk. Moments later, however, they realize Jaye fled the building. Jaye makes her way to the honeymoon suite, where Eric complains of a dry mouth. Jaye thinks he's been poisoned, but Heidi admits she switched one of his vitamins with Viagra, hoping it would increase his interest in her. Eric insists that Jaye stop badgering Heidi. Jaye makes her way to Dr. Ron's office, where she asks for drugs to treat (what she thinks is) dementia. Meanwhile Karen boards an elevator in Dr. Ron's building. A woman we'll come to know as That Olsen Girl slips into the elevator at the last minute. Karen realizes That Olsen Girl was one of Dr. Ron's patients (until she stabbed herself). It turns out that That Olsen Girl is carrying a duffel bag containing a gas tank. She fantasizes about setting Dr. Ron on fire.

Dr. Ron phones Sloan and tells him he's got "a situation" on his hands. Meanwhile the brass monkey tells Jaye to "lick the light switch." Jaye does as she's told and suddenly the power goes out. Trapped in the elevator together, Karen has a heart-to-heart chat with That Olsen Girl, whose mood eventually brightens. The electricity comes back on, and Karen and That Olsen Girl make their way to Dr. Ron's office. So, too, does Sloan, who draws his gun when he sees Jaye. Sloan searches That Olsen Girl's duffle bag and finds the gasoline tank. Dr. Ron realizes Jaye saved his life. Sloan takes That Olsen Girl into custody, and Dr. Ron tells Jaye she can have the monkey. Later Eric tells Jaye he's going back to his wife.
