SYNOPSIS

In the Barrel, Eric introduces Jaye to his wife,
Heidi. Minutes before, Eric reacts when he hears music coming from the
jukebox. When he walks through the Barrel, instead of finding Jaye he
discovers Heidi, whom Eric distanced himself from when he discovered
Heidi cheating on him during their honeymoon (she had sex with a bellboy
at their hotel). Heidi encourages Eric to get mad, and he responds by
hurling a shot glass at her. Heidi admits she made a mistake by having
an affair, and wants to make it up to him. She slowly advances on Eric
and kisses him. Suddenly Jaye appears in the doorway, and we're back to
where we started before the scene rewound. After Eric introduces Jaye to
his wife, the stuffed bass on the wall tells Jaye to "mend what is
broken." When Jaye returns home she phones the Tyler house looking for
Aaron. Mahandra picks up (having spent the night with Aaron) and Jaye
mistakenly believes she dialled the wrong number. Jaye calls back, and
this time Aaron picks up. Jaye tells Aaron to get to the trailer right
away. Before he leaves, Mahandra tells him to forget all about their
lovemaking. She's disturbed by the thought that the Tyler's have always
been like a second family to her, and she thinks of Aaron almost as a
sibling. Meanwhile Karen complains to Darrin that while they were away
at a medical conference, she spent an evening wearing an untried teddy
while he played poker with the boys.
Jaye tells Aaron that inanimate objects have been speaking to her ever
since an episode she had at work some two months earlier. Aaron thinks
he has the solution: he begins gathering up all the objects in Jaye's
trailer that have animal faces. Aaron loads a bag of the animal objects
into Jaye's car and drives off. Unbeknownst to him, one of the objects,
a rubber mouse cat toy, rolls out of the bag and under the driver's side
seat. Moments later, as Jaye watches television, a cartoon pig in a
bacon commercial animates. It tells Jaye to "mend what is broken."
Frustrated, Jaye picks up the portable TV and hurls it out the window,
accidentally hitting Heidi in the process. Heidi is rushed to the
hospital. When Heidi regains consciousness, it becomes obvious that
she's experiencing some sort of memory loss, because she thinks she's
still on her honeymoon and doesn't remember anything about her
infidelity. Dr. Frank Chambers tells Eric he should consult with a
memory-loss expert to see if anything can be done for Heidi. Later Frank
encounters Karen in the hallway and helps her with some chewing gum
that's stuck to her shoe. Frank tells Karen he's a big fan of her travel
books... and asks her out to dinner.
Eric takes Heidi back to their honeymoon suite. Jaye accompanies them on
the journey. Eric finds it increasingly difficult to justify remaining
by Heidi's side, because even though she may have amnesia, he can't
forget that she cheated. Eric gets so upset that he leaves the hotel
room. Heidi steps out of the bathroom wearing a sexy white negligee.
When Sharon finds out that her mother is going out to dinner with a
handsome doctor from the hospital, she can't believe it. Sharon tells
her father he'd be crazy to let the date happen. Back at the hotel Jaye
and Heidi converse about Eric. During the conversation Heidi makes a
slip, and Jaye realizes she's been faking the amnesia episode all along.
Then the bellman Heidi had sex with shows up at the door. He tells Heidi
he noticed that her husband left the room. Heidi tells Jaye that if she
breathes a word of her scheme to Eric, she'll kill her. When Karen
enters the living room for her date, she's dressed in a sexy black
number. Sharon still can't believe her father is letting the date go
forward, and she's even more horrified when she sees the handsome Frank
for the first time. Back at the hotel the tension between Jaye and Heidi
evolves into an out-and-out brawl. Jaye brings the fight to a halt, then
races out the door.
Mahandra can only look on in disbelief when Karen and Frank show up at
the Barrel for dinner. When Aaron stops by to pick up the stuffed bass
on the wall, Mahandra steers him away from his mother and Frank. As
Karen and Frank decide what to order, Darrin and Sharon spy on them from
afar. Sharon, who has a better view, tells her father that Frank is
touching Karen's hand. Darrin grows enraged. Jaye makes her way to the
Barrel, intending to tell Eric about Heidi's outrageous lie, but the
stuffed bass on the wall tells Jaye to keep her mouth shut. Moments
later Heidi enters the bar and makes a confession. Meanwhile, in the
back room, Aaron and Mahandra share passionate kisses. An angry Darrin
confronts Frank. Frank tries to reason with him, but Darrin's anger
builds further and he slugs Frank. Frank hits Darrin back, dropping him
like a sack of potatoes. Eric sees this... and says aloud that he wants
the same thing in his life: someone worth fighting for. At that moment
Heidi asks him to marry her again. Eric remembers an all-night chapel
nearby, and he and Heidi leave the Barrel to get married. Mahandra tells
Jaye that she may have been wrong to suggest that she dump Eric. Now
Mahandra thinks that Jaye should tell Eric about her feelings for him
before it's too late. When Jaye refuses, Mahandra grabs Jaye's car keys
and heads out to do it herself.
At home Darrin nurses his wounds. Karen scoffs at the idea of Frank
having romantic notions about her, but Darrin says that "men's jaws
drop" when Karen walks into a room. That's all Karen really wanted to
hear: that she's attractive. She gives Darrin a kiss. On the way to the
chapel the rubber mouse slides under the brake pedal and Mahandra
crashes Jaye's car into a ditch. Jaye takes a taxi to the chapel. Eric
tells her that he took vows, and not honouring them was breaking his
spirit. He thinks the right thing to do is to try and make the marriage
work, because he's not the type to just walk away. Jaye tells Eric
that's the reason why she's crazy about him. Jaye then volunteers to be
the witness for Eric and Heidi's marriage.
