Manhattan has become a deadly slum, run by mutant
crime lords and disinterested cops. Stuck in the middle is a young girl who
thought she had no future until she learns she has a great destiny. In a
world so poisoned that it doesn't notice the monsters on its streets, how
can a street kid like Fray unite a fallen city against a demonic plot to
consume mankind?
Drawn by Karl Moline and inked by Andy Owens, Fray was a success in
its time despite it's obvious problems in the schedule. Due to Whedon's
other projects, Fray was put on the bottom of his list, but was
eventually completed in 2003.
With the eight issue mini-series completed, Joss is considering a sequel to
his original tale, and the possibility of a live-action show edges closer
and closer with every year Joss has no show on the air.
