Since I first met Dave in 2004 he has evolved his backing band into the Brothers Gruff and taken his work in new sonic directions, culminating in the release of his latest album The Stand. I was introduced to these songs when Dave first started playing them live and I can say it is one of the most amazing collections of songs I have ever heard, even comparing it to my favorite records. With it he is taking on the world once again and you can catch him at venues all around the Philadelphia area.
Dave's sound is hard to define, but it is generally emotionally-tinged hard and acoustic rock with a touch of punk which reminds listeners of artists such as R.E.M., Third Eye Blind, Talking Heads and Tom Petty. His self-titled debut album, released in 2002, is still available at both his website and cdbaby.
