About the Catapilla Project

The Catapilla Project was created by a Philadelphia-area music and media buff in order to share their knowledge of popular music and the Philadelphia and regional music scene and meet and help people who felt as passionate about music and the region as they did. Its mission is to find and promote good music (popular and local) and the people who make it, bring musicians and music fans together and share their love of music and find ways to best utilize the Internet and other technologies in order to do so.
Highlights have included appearing on the liner notes for two albums, composing a set list that was performed live, having photos and reports appearing as part of artist promotion and following Mouth Of Wilson in the Emergenza Fest.
It is also looking to:
- Building a network of artists and music fans through MySpace and online groups.
- Bring attention to overlooked popular artists and songs
- Book concerts at local venues
- Create a production company
- Produce a music and/or band documentary
- Film concerts
- Produce/write for programs and publications on the local and popular music scenes
- Get local music in shows, films, and promotion
- Work with benefit concerts
- Produce music compilations and demos
Special thanks Dave Devlin, Mouth Of Wilson, Future 86, Blue Sinatra, the Pheromones, Laura Cheadle, Triumph Brewery, John and Peter's, Grape Street, World Cafe Live, MySpace, Flickr, other artists and fellow music fans encountered along the way for helping make this Project possible and continuing to make it a joy to do.
