McGuinn's Place - 6/22/07

Mouth Of Wilson was back at McGuinn's for the first time in almost a year but the main story was that it was the final show for Joe's second group, Strawdogs. MOW played first. For this show, it appeared as though singer Chris was taking a bit of a different rendition of the songs by speaking instead of singing the last lines of the verses. Laziness? Maybe. It was also a bit different visually with Devin and Joe swapping their usual positions onstage. It would have been nice if Mike Kianka was were to do the sound because the vocals were a bit low. After they were done, Strawdogs played two sets. With their lead singer moving to Mexico , it was a fitting way to go out. It is very rare when you know that is a final show for a group, most of the time, member differences or other things happen and there is no final show to promote. And one last note: I found out that mascot Wilson was actually a soccer ball, left over from Chris' playing days.
