| I have never heard Gandalf before so when I first put it one the stereo I thought that this is just another death metal band, but how wrong I where. This is not another death metal band, this one, just as the tilte says, ROCKS HELL! Take In Flames and mix it with AC/DC and you will get Gandalf, but they have found their own style to play death metal and every time I listen to it I fine new things to enjoy. The heviness goes like an red thred through the whole album, it starts with the In Flames smelling L8X Queen, for slowing down in the laidback rock n roll track Geysir and then get more energy the whole way to the end with Castle Of The Stars. This is rockn roll, this is death metal, its this years best album and if the year continues like this, it will be an pleasure to wake up every morning. -Uffe |

| So after ten years in the buisness its time for Gamma Ray to release an best of album. Its not many band that can put so many good song on an double CD and still there is songs that I miss. The fun thing with this album is that 13 songs are re-recordings and an bonus tracks The Silence that has only been avaible on the E.P. Silent Miracles. The re-recordings are songs from the albums Sigh No More, Insanity And Genius and Heading For Tomorrow, so all Kai Hansen lovers can now hear him sing on all the best Gamma Ray songs. Its not only the vocals that has been changed, some of the tracks comes in new versions, take Heading For Tomorrow for example, the new version are much better than the old version. Im one of those who prefer Kai befor Ralf Scheppers on vocals and I can enjoy this but are you an fan of Ralf will you probebly despise this album. Gamma Ray are the leaders of power metal and this double album shows why. -Uffe |
