Beseech "Black Emotions" 9/10 2000
The second album from this gotic band from Sweden and one of last years best gotic acts. These guys are ready to take over after Lake Of Tears as the kings of swedish goth metal and in times when Paradise Lost trys to sound like Depech Mode its make me feel good to hear something like this. Heavy riffs with keyboards that givesa you an atmospheric feeling of being far away and add the wonderful voice of Lotta Hglin that complements Jrgen Sjbergs dark vocals in an perfect way. I cant pick out one track thats better than the rest cause you have to listen to the whole album to get the best of it, but if I had to chose one it would be Velvet Erotica with its heavy riffs. Watch out for these guys cause they are just in the beginning of their journey to the gotic stars. -Uffe

Benumb "Withering Strands Of Hope" 0/10
32 tracks in 25 minutes speakes for itself, onlt two over just one minute. This is awful grindcore with the roots in New York, its like the record company has said You only got half an hour, make a lot of noise and do it quick. I dont see the meaning with this record, except that its a candidate to the worst album of the year. -Uffe

Black Sabbath "Best Of" 2000 8/10
So its time for one of the biggets rock bands ever to release an best of album and if you dont own any Black Sabbath records, this one is for you, but there is nothing new on this double CD with 32 tracks. Here you got classics such as Black Sabbath, War Pigs, Paraniod, Sweet LeafI can keep on forever. The most of the songs contains Ozzy on vocals, one with Tony Martin and only two with Ronnie James and Dio. Dio, who is my favourite, sings on Heaven And Hell and Turn Up The Night and Tony sings on The Dark/Zero The Hero. The booklet contains an complete Black Sabbath story that reach from the start to the Last Supper Tour. It also contains photos of Sabbath in the early years but not a single one on Ronnie James Dio, its a shame. -Uffe

This is a tough one to review, not only because it is a damn great album, Im also a friend to the band and help my friend with their fanclub, but Ill give it a try. Beseech plays Gotic Metal with both female and male vocals, heavy riffs and atmospherical keyboards that gives Beseech their special sound. The last album, Black Emotions, was a dark thing there you have to listen to the whole album to get the best of. You have to listen to Souls Highway the same way but this time its easier to take the album to your heart, maybe it has to do with that Lotta Hglin have got more space for her lovely voice this time. I dont know how to discribe the songs but some favourites is Souls Highway, Fiction City and the ABBA cover Gimme, Gimme that only comes with the limited digi-pack. Anyway there is no bad tracks on the album and there is both slow and a little bit faster songs (but not so fast because they play Goth Metal you know). As I write in my review for Black EmotionsThese guys are ready to take over after Lake Of Tears as the kings of swedish Goth Metal and in times when Paradise Lost try to sound like Depech Mode its make me feel good to hear something like this I still stand for that but one thing is different, Beseech are the new kings (and queenI dident forget you Lotta) of Gotic Metal but not only in Sweden, no in the whole world. Well I got a little bit to excited at the end but I think you get the point. This is one of this years best albums and if you dont buy itwell Im gonna feel sorry for you. -Uffe
