Falconer Chapters From A Vale Forlorn 7,5/10
This is the first time I listened to the band, Falconer released their debut "The Falconer" about a year ago, but I havent heard it yet. But after listening to their new album "Chapters From A Vale Forlorn" I definitely want to hear it. This new effort is really good, full of harmonies, melodies and lots of guitars, the production i excellent for this kind of metal and its done by Andy LaRocque. The singing is clean and really good but I would like more aggressive singing from Mathias Blad. He has an great voice and I know he easily could handle more aggressive style, that would have suited the music much better. When you hear the music you feel like you have been taken into an old story, like your mommy told when you where young, but this is more heavy and got lots more from drumming ;). The song "We Sold Our Homesteads" is so much swedish folkmusic and its so damn good, I love this tune. Other songs thats really good is the opener "Decadence Of Dignity", "For Life And Liberty" and "the Clarion Call". All I have to do now is to wait for their first album to drop down in my mail, cause it was a great experience to listen to Falconer. For the next album remeber the word aggressive. ;)
