Well soft is the correct word for this album, D.A.D. have never been as soft as they are on this album. The talked about Soft Dogs as a back to their root album like No Fuel Left For The Pilgrims and Riskin It All but that was nothing but bullshit. The album continues where Everything Glows left, only softer though. I enjoy the album anyway but I want my D.A.D. to rock again, like they did before, but is to commercial to me. The title track, Between You & Me and Golden Ways is some of the highlights but the album contains a couple of crap-tracks as well and thats to bad. So for all of you who where hoping for a rockier sound from D.A.D. avoid this one and for those who like D.A.D.s later sound, its a must buy.

Dream Theather Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulance 6/10
Another studio album from the dudes in Dream Theather. They are very creative, most or all of them have side-projects and its not to long ago Metropolis Pt.II came out. This new one its a double-album and it contains 6 songs, you have 5 of them on the first disc and the titletrack on the second disc and its over 40 minutes of music. But that is Dream Theather problem, you got quantaty not quality from the boys, some parts are brilliant and good and others just feels like a looooog highway that gives you absolutely nothing. If Dream Theather tried to do an album at just 40-45 minutes then maybe we could get an album that is close to their classic Images And Words. But until then we have to suffer through the boring parts to get to the wonderful and beautyful parts. This one is for Die hard Dream Theather fans only.

Oh no what a disappointment, last album "Erase The Slate" was just the album I longed for many years. My expectations with this new effort was therefore high and with John Norum back on guitar it couldnt go wrong???. But everything have gone wrong this time, the album is a slow, soft and boring history. Don is singing boring, Norums guitar is not faster than a fly on the wall and nah turn off this bullshit please and place it where it belong, IN THE GARBAGE CAN.

Album of the year?. Dont know yet, it`s a long way to go and releases from Rob Halford, Testament and Nevermore on its way later this year.

But so far? Oh yes it is. This is a melodic heavy metal album from Sweden with Fredrik Nordstroem(Producer of In Flames, Hammerfall and more) on guitars, keyboards and as well on the producing seat, Snowy Shaw on drums, Gus G a very talented Greek guitarist, Peter Stalfors on bass and Niklas Isfeldt on vocals a newcomber on the big scene cause this album is going to be really big. The album has a concept I don`t bother to tell you the sory but its about dragons, kings and blood. We have all heard it before but Dream Evil deliver music and lyrics with such dedication and attitude that you cant sit still. The production is crystal clear and heavy. The album is full of heavyriffing and melodies a very strong choir section they even have Gothenburg`s Philharmonic string section on the album. It`s stunning and take hold of you from the beginning to the end.

All the songs is strong and there is no fillers. Some fast like the opener "Chasing The Dragon" and "The Prophecy". Then we have the real masterpiece of the album "The Chosen Ones" an epic song with really heavy choir, the song contains everything I love with metal a balladic intro and getting heavier through the song. The chorus is awesome with the choir. I have played this album nonstop since I got it and I can tell you all that this album is a favorite on my dayjob as well. A must buy.

Hell yeah!!! This years best album so far is here. Dimension Zero, the all-star band featuring Jesper Strmblad (In Flames), Jocke Gthberg (ex-Marduk), Glenn Ljungstrm and Hasse Nilsson, deliver one hell of a album. They showed us allready in 97 with the e.p. Penetrations From The Lost World that something big was to come. Dimension Zero plays melodic death metal in true swedish spirit and they mix all the best elements from the Gothenberg sound. Jesper Strmblads band mate from In Flames, Anders Fridn, have produced the album and you can hear some In Flames here and there, but dont get me wrong, its not that much. The album starts out with the title track, Silent Night Fever, a fast tune that sets the tone for the whole album. I cant tell you wich song that is best because they are all a masterpiece in their own way and even the last one, Slow Silence, is great. Slow Silence is, as the name say, slow, but in a cryptic way with great vocals from Mr Gthberg and after eight tracks with blistering death metal its good with something to relax your neck to. I am glad that these guys dont play live that much because after one listening on this album I have got myself some serious neck damages after all headbanging. If you are into the swedish death metal scene with bands like In Flames, The Haunted, At The Gates and Arise you better go and get a copy of this one.

parts of old black/death-metal band has became Deathstars, and changed musical direction into a more electronic industry-metal, with a commercial stench on it (which was not the purpose! .Ed). They dont want to be a commercial band to all the 14 year old girls, according to different interviews Ive read with them. Well, sorry guys.. you choose a bad time to make a break through then! Metal is on its way up in Sweden, at the least the commercial status. And since we have PAIN playing all the time in radio and TV in Sweden, Deathstars dont have to make that big effort to be played on at least TV here.
But what about the music then? Well, they have put a lot of hard work into making real strong and hit-songs, and they do it well. The first time you listen to it, you will wave it away as something easy listened, but when you dig into the songs, you find out that theres more to it than meets the eye! For example their 2 hit songs Synthetic Generation and Syndrome are great work of art, especially the later one. This album also contains a very, very good sound production. Above all, this album is strong, when you are into it.
Even if Im critical to many commercialised bands many times, I would dare to say that this is a album that will hold for a long time, an all-time hit-album!

This is the debut album from Darkwell and they give us gotic metal with female vocals. I usally dont listen to this kind of music but sometimes I find an album that speaks to me. The fun thing is that the first I heard this album i thought it was crap, but after a few listening its really grows. Heavy riffs with with wonderful melodies, great keyboard harmonies and an butifule singer in Alexandra Pittracher. Shes good but that doesnt she have the voice to carry an hole album. Shes got an high and clear voice but its get irritating when she sings on the sma high level all the time, sometimes theres need for some power in the lyrics. Any way this is an good album and there is some good songs on it, take a litening to Blakheart, its  one of the most beatufule song I have ever heard in this genre.

Yes!!! The Deftones are back and they are better than ever, their best album this far. Terry Date (Soundgarden, Pantera) are once again brought in to produce a Deftones album and he has done an teriffic job with Chino Morenos vocals, he sings better than ever. I have tryed to pick out the best song on this album but I cant, they are all awsome, but there is some of them that sticks out. The opener Feiticeira sets the vibe for the hole album and in Digital Bath Moreno sings about how he lures a yong women into a bath and then executes her by putting electricity into the water. Then there is Teenager an ballad wher you can here Chino sing like an little choirboy and Passenger features Maynard James Keenan (Tool/A Perfect Circle). What can I say? If youre an Deftones fan you gonna love this one, if you never heard themwell I feel sorry for you.

No. This is nothing for me. Im a big fan of both black and death metal, but not in this kind of mixture. This one is for you who like fast double kick drums,  guitars that are even faster and a singer thats growls. Blasterpiece Theatre is although something different from the music scene today, I just cant say what.
