Haji Azman was appointed the Malaysian Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia by Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Ibni Al-Marhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail in March 27, 2003. Dato� Azman arrived in the Republic of Croatia on April 4, 2003 and presented his credentials to His Excellency President Stjepan Mesic on May 20, 2003. Dato� Azman is the first appointed resident Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia. In his previous assignment, Dato� Azman had the opportunity of initiating the Malaysian Embassy in Sana�a, Yemen. Prior to that posting, Dato� Azman served as the Ambassador to the Embassy in Cairo, Egypt. His previous assignments prior to being appointed as an Ambassador included; Director of training in the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations, Minister Counselor to the Embassy of Malaysia in Bonn, Germany, Principal Assistant Secretary (South East Asia) in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Counselor in the Embassy of Malaysia in Moscow, Russia. Dato� Azman received his B.A. degree in Social Sciences and Economics from the University of Malaya and his Masters degree in Sovietology from George Washington University. He received his Dato�-ship from the Sultan of Pahang Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta�in Sultan Abu Bakar Ri�Ayatuddin Al Mu�adzam Shah in 2000. He is married to Datin Thalasiah Sulaiman and has three sons (Aiffel, Yeop and Amr) and one daughter (Tatiana). |
