  Sea World Vacation

We spent 2 perfect days at Sea World in Orlando in November. It was not too hot, few people; and just long enough. And we were totally in sync: we agreed about everything, found the perfect souvenirs, got tired at the same time, and enjoyed the same shows and food. What a blast.

If you've never felt a stingray, it's like petting a swimming mushroom. FYI.

We had 2 favorite things. One was the dolphin and whale show. Impressive tricks; coordinated music. We watched it twice. My favorite trick was the underwater, rotating dolphin pairs with a trainer swimming in a corkscrew, one foot on each dolphin nose. Wow!

The other was Kracken, the single gigantic roller coaster. Somehow, we had never ridden a roller coaster together; I have never seen Dave laugh so hard! We ran through a super short line several times before we got headaches and had to stop. Woohoo!

Dave loved the pirate mime. He had heard about him from coworkers before we even got to the park. He entertained the crowd, before the walrus/sea lion comedy pirate show. He was really good.

  The classic self-portrait.

At night we stayed at the company apartment, where we cooked up yummy dinners and watched movies until we couldn't keep our eyes open.

It was fun feeding the sea lions. They begged and barked like dogs. But it was the birds who usually scored the most fish. One bird had the gall to take a tray of fish right out of a lady's hand.

We also loved the shark tunnel, the coral reef tunnel, the chilly polar animals, this unbelievable pet show, the birds, the dolphin nursery, the trash can musicians, the dueling pianists, pearl divers and watching kids at the water playground. The acrobats were unusual, and the touchy-feely, high tech Shamu show was OK. It was hard not to say all the time "Won't it be fun to show our kids this or that someday?"

What a great park!

After going on the roller coaster a few more times, and circling through every gift shop again, we left happy.

We ended our vacation by going to the temple and visiting the outlet malls. We came back to the real world when we ran out of money and felt a whole lot better.
