Chris and Kenny's Visit My brothers Chris and Kenny Eyring came to visit in June of 2006, soon after Kenny came home from his mission to Montreal, Canada.
The first thing we did was drag them up to Orlando on a youth temple trip, which they were happy to help with. |

Next Chris, Kenny and I went snorkeling, and burned ourselves to a
crisp. This is despite my promises to my mother to watch out for Kenny's
seen-no-daylight-under-a-3-piece-suit-for-2-years skin. And apparently
we didn't put on the sunscreen evenly, because Chris and Kenny had all
sorts of mottled red burn areas on their body. Note to self: 1 layer of sunscreen is not adequate for 3 hours of snorkeling and swimming. Whoops. The ocean wasn't clear enough, but we saw a lot of fish in the Intercoastal waterway, around south Jupiter Island bridge. We also found out it takes a lot of stamina to swim across the boat channel current! |

Of course, we played games in the evening. Here we played Sequence, but we taught them Category 5, (the hurricane card game; thanks Melanie and Sam for that one!) I also forced them to play Encore, a song game, but which nobody likes but me.

We visited the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary just across the street from us. It's a little recovery zoo set in the beautiful Florida scrub. Here Kenny, Chris, and Dave walk over the cypress marsh.

We saw lots of exotic birds, deer, snakes, an albino racoon, Florida panthers, foxes, turtles, etc.

Kenny made Canadian "andouille" for us. It's a junk food he ate on his mission in French-speaking Montreal. It's french fries, gravy, and cheese, and pretty good. Kenny also showed us mission pictures and told stories. We're so happy with his faithful mission service. Way to go, Ken!

The last full day of their visit, we sent Chris and Kenny to City
Place (the ritzy shopping plaza in downtown West Palm Beach), Flagler
Museum, and Mounts Botanical Gardens for the day. Kenny left to work for the summer and his second year of BYU in the fall. Chris went back to his job in Salt Lake and senior classes at the University of Utah. We had a great time with them. Come back soon! |
