Welcome to Servbot's Corner!!!

Ya, I've started so there's nothing much to include anyway...just some of my feelings about things happening in school. Cos I am rather quiet in person so I think this is a better way to express my feelings lor. Hopefully the readers will also understand how I feel abt certain things. I will try my best to update everyday lah...so do visit here often! (I know the page is very ugly, but I dunno much about webpage making.)

19 December Sunday
Aftermath
Yesterday there was another round of CIP related to SPD again. (how come SPD seems to be behind every event that we've done this hols?) After that bad experience in selling tickets not long ago, I dun feel like going liao. Also I had to go for my grandfather's birthday party (a very familiar excuse right?) in the evening. Heard that if I dun go for the CIP this time, I won't get any hours for the previous one. What bunch of BS...does that mean those who came for the final CIP can get hours for the previous two even if they didn't attend them? Nvm...forget it, that's why I think CIP sucks.

Since I did not go for the CIP, I went out with my primary sch friend instead. We watched 'National Treasure'. Initially he dun feel like watching it becos of Nicholas Cage's face (-_-) and I eventually persuaded him. He wanted to watch Phantom of The Opera, which is a sneak preview. Anyway what's the diff between a sneak preview and a 'now-showing' movie? Sneak preview is a shorter version of the actual movie right? (Pardon my ignorance if I'm wrong...) National Treasure is quite nice lah, a typical treasure hunting show with one clue leading to another. The key lies in how the clues are hidden, presented and deciphered. This is where I find the movie impressive. In fact I enjoy every movie I've watched...except for one - Lost In Translation. (I hate this kind of movies...felt that the story can be better utilised in drama serials.) Some of you may know I have difficulties listening to angmohs speak. So dun be surprised if I dun respond to the humour in movies.

Then accompanied him to shop for christmas presents for his friends. I dun have the habit to give christmas presents so dun expect anything from me, sorry. I would rather save all my resources/money for birthday presents instead.

Went to grandparents' house in the evening. The house is so small and there were so many ppl (abt 50 relatives) squeezing into the tiny unit. There was buffet catering but I didn't eat much. My bro was so uncomfortable that he went home by himself halfway... My parents kept toking toking toking and toking to other relatives while I was playing around with toys intended for 3-5 years old in order to kill time. What a siansation!

Now that the concert is over, I shall settle down and start attacking my homework........*looks at GP homework*.....or maybe not...

17 December Friday
Corwin's House
Supposed to have a band bbq at East Coast Park today, but we waited for some ppl for almost an hour until it started to rain, so we went to Corwin's house instead. Anyway I've to praise Eesuan for her efficiency in buying a big box of beehoon for the bbq. The clarinet section was supposed to prepare them and I tot we'll have to go someone's house and cook. I was thinking that Corwin's house will be just a normal private terrace but was terribly astonished when I arrived there..

It is not a terrace, but a BUNGALOW...a BIG one somemore. Corwin a damn rich kid...haha. The garden is soooo big, got pond and river somemore. (but no swimming pool...awww) There are 3 storey plus a basement!!!! Yup...the basement is a theatre room/lounge, with dim lights, carpeted floor, cushioned armchairs, bar table/stools (no bar counter...haha) and a 2-metre wide projector screen!!! This acts as a TV screen...wah lao...so zai, like those kind you usually see in restaurants, accompanied by a hi-fi set, amplifiers attached to walls, karaoke system and a XBox! (sigh...no PS2 though) Absolutely the best room in any home that I've ever seen! He has a lot of xbox games too (many times more than the no. of PS2 games I have so far). Probably pirated one...if original, I'll faint...

That's not all, the living room area is so big lor...comparable to Daoming Si's house. So high class, spick and span, like those rich ppl's homes you see in dramas. It also leads to the outdoor bbq area. If I'm not wrong, I saw two dining tables - one rectangle and the other round, placed in different rooms (the first floor has damn lots of rooms). The kitchen is normal-sized, but it leads to a spacious backyard for hanging clothing. There is a piano near the stairs, a gym area just above the living room, 4 TV sets in all -  one in living room (flat one), one in dining room, one at second floor living hall, and another must be in one of the bedrooms. (The bedrooms are so damn spacious somemore...) Didn't go to the third floor, must be the attic or sth. Also didn't get to explore many other rooms cos they were closed/locked. Overall I was extremely impressed...that I took some photos of it:

The "lounge" - Can see the big screen?

Oh no...someone caught me taking snapshots of the house...

Yup...the piano under the stairs. The flight of stairs right at the back leads to the basement.

Looks nicer than the Istana...

Roamed around for the first few hours: watched ppl play Xbox, played one round of Uno, ate the prepared food, watched Xi Lin Men, then finally settled down to play a 4-player Kung Fu game in the Xbox. (those kiddy and lame types) Played a few rounds before getting used to it. Though I've never been an overall winner for a round before, it was quite a feat that I managed to pull off 4 special attacks during one fight...haha...ppl were getting so frustrated with my attacks. The game is so fun lor, I play until my heart beating very fast, eyes seeing stars liao. I think most of you dunno what I'm talking abt...nvm...very hard to describe here also, must play then know. If I have an Xbox, I'll surely buy that game one. Wait...hold on...I do have an Xbox...haha...not not enough players lah...play with com so boring.

A group photo...As you can see the camera is a bit out of place, and the left side looks blurred...I just realised the lens are dirty.

Took a group photo before going home...have to change batteries for my camera. Energizer so lousy one, so fast no power, I want those found in remote controls...can last longer. The next band chalet can go Corwin's house and stay liao, there should be enough guest rooms to contain all the band members right?

16 December Thursday
Concert
Phew...the concert is finally over, after several consecutive days of practices. Not very happy with my performance tonight, squeaked countless times, even on my solo. (hopefully the other clarinetists will forgive me...) It's a long time since I squeaked that many times lor, it must be a psychological problem. As for the overall performance, I think we could have done better. The rehearsals sounded much nicer, but for most concerts this is usually the case. Heard some audiences get very bored when we were playing "Tails of blahblahcrap", I think only that angmoh conductor appreciates this music. That piece is really a concert killer, esp when most audience dun even understand band music. That reynish guy spoke as if everyone were musicians or sth...still can give preview of the pieces somemore...pls lah that cannot work in Singapore one. That was merely wasting ours and the audiences' time, even my mum felt that he was talking to himself, and heard that some were yawning during that piece. The 2nd half of concert saved the day, the pieces were more lively and interesting.

Everyone was busy taking photos after the concert, but my camera suddenly no battery...so sad...nvm i ask eesuan to send them to me, she has taken a lot. I'm only enthu in taking photos, not being taken. Anyway thanks to everyone who has given me presents like flowers and sweets...a bit bu hao yi si of not preparing anything. Eesuan's present was esp nice...I can see she spent a lot of time and effort making those cup sweets. Tmr got band bbq, must prepare beehoon somemore. How? I dunno how to cook, I only know how to buy those packet ones from stalls, but obviously that's not what a bbq needs.

13 December Monday
Tired of pracs
Argh...getting tired of that Angmoh conductor already. Whenever the band makes a mistake, he would do some exaggerating actions that would piss me off, like grabbing his hair, stomping the ground, howl like the world is coming to an end. We are not a professional band and he can't expect us to understand each and every of his conducting methods (esp the raising of trumpet bells thing). If that is what he expects us to do, then he shldn't accept the offer of conducting the band knowing that it is just made up of jc students. He's so fat yet still wants to play around with his clothing, I wonder how many tubas can fit into his stomach. His glasses are so super ultra thick and yet he still sees the score wrongly several times. And oh, his pronunciation is downright terrible, can say "thirteen" into "thirty", and many others which I can't remember for now. He's a British somemore, that's so wrong. I tot he was rather nice when I first saw him, but now I find him more annoying.

Anyway I just realised the size of JJC band is even more pathetic than HC's. There was originally no clarinets at all and an oboe and a saxophone player were forced to join clarinets. Now there are 2 clarinets, not even complete for 1st, 2nd and 3rd parts. I also heard horns got 0 members at the start too. Other sections are just like our band, 2 or 3 players only, but some of them always pon pracs so effectively there are only average of 1 or 2 players per section. I feel so sorry for them. But it's not their fault lah, JJC places more emphasis onto sports CCAs and nobody wants to join band. (I think those ex- band members are scared of the band politics in their sec schs liao.) Can't imagine how small a jc band can be... I wonder how they are going to survive next year's SYF.

Watched yesterday's Star Awards...predicted so many wrongly >-< . No kelong situations like Michelle Saram in past 2 years, but some were rather unexpected. I think Li Yinzhu deserves the best supporting actress award. She has been acting for like 30+ years liao (since the Rediffusion times - according to my parents) and this is the first time she has ever gotten such awards. Her acting is very good and has acted countless shows for the past how-many years liao. It's time she gets the award (treat it as a zhong shen cheng jiu jiang). Err...Andrew Seow's speech was really bad, firstly he didn't prepare anything, secondly he dunno how to speak chinese, thirdly he just sooo nervous...sigh. And yay, Xie Shaoguang won again ("again" is an understatement...) With him, the rest of the actors can forget of winning the award liao. Ivy Lee was a surprise, her character in Xi Lin Men is so-so, not as interesting as Xiang Yun's. I think she won becos of the way she expresses her emotions in the show, which is quite good I think, as compared to the scream-shout-and-scold Xiang Yun. Aiyoh, how come Mark Lee can win the best host...maybe there are no better choices after all...everytime he hosts I feel that I'm watching a comedy. Anyway with Kym, Bryan, Guo Liang and Quan Yifeng next year, others can forget abt getting the awards liao...haha. Why is Phyllis Quek in the Top 10 again??!! Sianz. How could that Moses Lim get into Top 10 also? All the votes must have come from aunties/ah sohs/ah mas... Pity that Ivy and Fiona are out...ppl who support them are definitely not picking up their phones and calling at all. (like me...haha) And LOL to Fann and Christopher......... -___-

With the Mediaworks artistes next year, it's going to be a very tough competition...looking forward to it...hehe.

10 December Friday
Far Away
For the past few entries I've been talking abt stuff that some of you are least interested in, so I decide to write something that all of you can comment on. Have been going to NYJC for the past 2 days (and for tmr, mon and tue next week also) for combined band prac. Sometimes I think it's meaningless to attend pracs for concerts which none of my friends will be coming to watch (or support). It's like a boring chore to maintain the tradition of holding a year-end concert annually. Anyway I still managed to sell one, to my closest kin of course! She has always been coming to my performances ever since Sec 1. Sadly she doesn't understand music at all, just there to watch me walk in and out the stage, sit down and flick my fingers away on a black wooden tube. Ok, most of you shld know who she is liao. (not my girlfriend you dumbo!)

NYJC is sooo far away from my home lor, located in a region which is the most inaccessible from Bukit Panjang. Last time I went to Zhe Han's house in Thomson already got a lot of problems liao. Cut through Mandai by transferring from one bus to another (both bus came from each side of that long stretch of road, making a loop at the Zoo), which took terribly long cos the frequency of arrival is low. Now NYJC is located in between Ang Mo Kio and Serangoon (with SBS buses which I've never seen before), and I've no choice but to go to Ang Mo Kio MRT station from Choa Chu Kang via Woodlands (that route is so damn long), then take bus from there to reach the main road outside NYJC, have to walk a distance to enter the school. To get to MRT I've to take LRT to the terminal right? So altogether it's LRT first, then MRT, then bus and walk. Four different modes of transport! So wonderful. That journey took abt 1h 10 - 20 mins depending on waiting time. And I've to go thru this for 5 mornings! And have to reach there by 8 am somemore, have to wake up very early, and can't help to be late everytime. Sigh, I got the feeling that I'm becoming like Youcheng liao.

Talking abt him, I think Mong Seng is organising a BBQ somewhere before Christmas, finally an class gathering for this holiday! Heard a lot of classes have organised outings and chalets while my class so pathetic everything also dun have. Anyway I'm not the proactive type so dun count on me for organising outings and such, I'm just waiting to attend outings...heh heh. Who went for the fac outing few weeks ago? How was it? Is the turnout very bad of our class? Hopefully this BBQ will be a success... Haven't received any confirmation yet, skali cancelled... :S

Zhiwei is advertising his new website, so I think I'll help him a little. Here it is: http://gadzap.freelinuxhost.com/ Currently only the blog section is up.

7 December Tuesday
Predictions for Star Awards
Yup...Star Awards will be held on this coming Sunday! Got a feeling that as years pass, ppl are no longer interested in Star Awards liao, except for TV fans like me...haha. Here are my predictions:

Best Lead Male: Xie Shaoguang - Xi Lin Men (yes...I know he has bagged several awards for the past few years liao, but I've to admit that his acting is superb and he seems to be the best choice out of the other nominees. Unfortunately he'll be 'retiring' from the showbiz next year, won't get to enjoy anymore of his dramas...sigh...)

Best Lead Female: Xiang Yun - Xi Lin Men (Wah...she acted so well that I hate her to the core. All the arguments she made in the show really boiled my blood...feel like punching her sometimes. Baddies/Uglies usually have advantage in the "Best Supporting" awards but since Xiang Yun is promoted to the lead, I'll still vote for her as if she is a supporting actress. Huang Biren stands a good chance as well, but I prefer Xiang Yun. The winner must be either both of them.)

Best Supporting Male: Andrew Seow - Pao Ba Nan Ren (Can't find any better choice...)

Best Supporting Female: May Phua - San Shi Feng Yu Lu (If her 'mother' Yang Libing was nominated, I would surely vote her her one. Like mother like daughter. Vivian Lai is also good, but her role in the show is rather dull, same goes for Hong Huifang.

Best Drama: Xi Lin Men  (Self Explanatory)

Best Newscaster/Current Affairs Host: ? (All the same every year, how to predict? I think Dong Suhua will get it, since she has never gotten before...haha.)

Best Comedian: Mark Lee (yes, his face feels like orange skin, he talks rubbish sometimes, and may offend ppl, but I still find him funny...look at The Best Bet; Tu Ran Fa Cai then you know.)

Best Host: ? (Sry...I watched too few variety shows this year to predict...somehow I dun think Sharon Au will get it this year.)

Best Variety: Creatively Mine; Wo Shi Chuang Xin Wang (Where's the lame show Zhou Wu Yu Le Wang? Haha, j/k... As the title suggests, that show is rather creative...)

Green Apple: Li Xian Min - Xi Lin Men (Wen Wen all the way!!!! She rocks!) *did you realise the similarity between her name and the title of drama?*

Top 10 Male: Chen Hanwei, Christopher Lee, Edmund Chen, Desmond Koh, Qi Yuwu, Tay Pinghui, Terrence Cao, Xie Shaoguang, Vincent Ng, Mark Lee.

Top 10 Female: Fann Wong, Jeanette Aw, Jacelyn Tay, Ivy Lee, Huang Biren, Sharon Au, Xiang Yun, Fiona Xie, Vivian Lai, Phyllis Quek.

5 December Sunday
CIP sucks
Went all the way to Expo today for CIP - selling of donation tickets. I'm terribly bad at doing this kind of stuff, esp when it requires you to be thick-skinned enough to approach ppl who dun even bother you at all. I really shldn't have come today, it's just a waste of my time. I could have spent my precious Sunday playing GTA, considering that I'll be very busy next week...full of band pracs. This type of job shld be left to those sweet-talkers, sociable ppl who are 100 times more efficient than me. This is my first time, and would probably be my last too. I'm not going to do such stuff anyone, totally sick of it liao. Ppl usually prey on me, not the other way round, maybe becos I've such a generous face. I got donate a bit lah...but mostly out of pity. Only 8 ppl went today, all 6 from clarinet section plus Xinling and Guan Min. Where are the organisers????? Can't imagine the rest of the band just pon liddat...now I laugh at my own stupidity, I shld have pon with them also.

Didn't know must wear sch uniform for CIP events, luckily Stacy and Sheryl were with me. We were given 5 booklets of 10 coupons to sell, and allowed to go all the way to Orchard. Some NJC ppl were 'competing' with us too. Apparently the Singapore Idol contestants were coming to perform in the hall during the afternoon but we would miss it. We went to Tampines Mall first...Jeff and I tried the bus interchange, but everyone was just rushing with the crowd, no good. Then tried the pedestrian crossing, where things looked a little better cos Stacy was there and she could sell quite a few. Suddenly a middle-aged woman came to beg for $10 and even kneel down in front of me! (scary...) I told her we were raising funds for charity and in need of money also. Then someone shooed her away and threatened to call the police to catch her. That person explained to me that the woman would make use of the money to gamble further. (sounds so drama...) Dunno that this kind of ppl still exist in Singapore... Out of so many ppl on the streets why did that woman choose me? It was so ironic since I was asking ppl for donations at the same time. Like I said, I have the face which screams of my generosity. I'm born to be a donor...

That's so shitty lah, first time selling tickets then ppl want to beg me for money instead. That's no wonder, we were stationed at fixed positions which made us a easy prey for beggars. So poor thing, I sold none at all, while Stacy sold almost a whole book and Jeff sold a few (4 I think...1 person bought 3 lor). We decided to change our target and move to Bugis Junction, where we expect ppl to be more likely to stop and donate since they are shopping. But it's still the same, ppl ignoring us, waving their hands in refusal, rushing off to someone else...sigh. And why do I have the feeling that ppl were avoiding us, trying not to walk into our line of sight. Unfortunately those 'brave' ones already had their minds set on not donating anything. Also got some lian chou chou ppl walked towards me, I dun dare to ask lor. When I approached some ppl, they got frightened or sth...-__- There are some who dun even look at me somemore. So discouraged by these acts...making me look like I'm begging for money liddat. It's so sian seeing bei ren de lian se.

Finally I caught hold of a group of girls, who were willing to stop and listen to me. They were actually tourist from some Asian country (cannot identify the language they spoke). Eventually I convinced them to do a part for charity and buy a ticket. I feel so bad asking money from tourists leh, if I were in their shoes, I would never donate to a foreign organisation which I've never heard of. (I wonder won't they fear being cheated meh?) Sadly this is the one and only ticket which I can sell for the day...sigh...I want to cry liao. I see Stacy so lucky lor, most ppl she asked will donate. Getting a bit sian diao already, so went with Stacy to buy some drinks before staring at the public again. Most of us were tired (I dun want to ask liao), and we returned to Expo 1 hour before time. The girls did some shopping for sports apparel before submitting the books. Jeff and I had to resort to absorbing some tickets ourselves so we wun feel so paiseh. Absorbed 9 tickets (there goes my $$$...) to make up one book. 1 tix for 3 hours, what a great failure.

At the exhibition hall we did some stamp/chop thingy at different booths in order to earn a free goodie bag. In the process, I got to play around with a wheelchair (quite easy to control actually but a bit difficult to turn). The bag contains a useless pen without ink (it is those type which disabled ppl use), a M size T-shirt (probably to small for me), packet of chocolate cookies (yummy!) and a made-by-mcdonalds cushion (Good for camp/chalet). To console myself, I'll just treat it as I bought the goodie bag for $18....

Not going to do anymore CIP liao, esp those asking ppl for money. End up have to tao yao bao myself...grr...

4 December Saturday
The Incredibles
Watched The Incredibles with Brady and Zhiwei today. Long time no see liao...Brady couldn't recognise me...haha. Plaza Singapura is forever soooo terribly crowded, only front row seats left. We made our way to Cine, but it's still the same. Cine one not so bad lah, at least the front row is some distance away from the screen. After buying the tickets, we went to eat at Pastamania. Aiyoh, the spaghetti so ordinary, taste no different than homecooked one. Shld have ordered others instead, like lasagna (Garfield's fav food!). Then we went to the arcade, where Zhiwei was haolian-ing his 2D fighting skills. Finally it was time for the show!

Haha...The Incredibles was so funny, esp the part where the mother's body was clamped by several doors, and the baby became some fiery creature out of the blue. -__- How I wish I can have some kind of special ability to protect myself or punish ppl...definitely not the elastic one! Anyway now I'm officially broke liao, who wants to donate money to me?

3 December Friday
KBox@Cine
Went to KBox yesterday with Zhe Han and Zhaoyang. It was a last minute decision lah...but I still have to thank ZH for organising this to satisfy my itchy mouth. Chose the old songs again (not those Fei Yuqing, Feng Feifei type one)...I'm still stuck in the 90s era. ZH and ZY chose the more modern songs, most which I haven't heard before. Got a bit sian after I can't think of anymore better songs to sing (anyway we sang for almost 5 hours). Now I'm tired of kbox liao...won't be going there again until few months later. Maybe I shld start to listen to new songs already.

Playing GTA:SA currently, luckily I'm driving a car yet if not I'll have the urge to heng chong zhi zhuang and run over pedestrians and motorcycles. Too much vulgarities also...until I'm almost going to utter a few when I fail a mission.

Sigh...have to return the donation coupons by next Tuesday, I guess most of you cannot donate by then liao. Worse come to worse I absorb the rest lor. I suck at doing this kind of things. This Sunday I'd better stick with someone else if not I won't be able to sell even a single coupon.

Issit me or there is really nobody visiting my site nowadays? If you are still reading my blog, then pls leave a message in the comments section so that I can keep track of the visitor number. (I dun have hits counter mah....so have to do this.)

1 December Wednesday
SG Idol
Sigh...November is over, my best month of the year. I enjoy November cos it is the month of celebration, relaxation, play-till-you-drop after the final year exams. Then you may ask, "Why not December? They are both the same right? School holidays wat." Haha...December also got an extra meaning to me - Preparation for School Reopening...sianz. Esp for the last week of December (after Christmas), I would become very sian diao, reluctant to take out my books and start studying again.

Watched a few hours of SG Idol finals just now, this is my first time watching SG Idol besides one of the audition episodes. I dun listen to English songs one...so very hard to judge their singing...I usually hear from ppl and news. The judge's comments for Taufik were really right from the heart, frank and truthful, whereas the comments for Sylvester sound very unwilling, as if the judges are forced to compliment him liddat. (finals mah...must be mindful of their language) I noticed that the judges gave Taufik comments that he's going to be the SG idol or sth like that, while for Sylvester it gives me the feeling that the judges are trying to fu yan him, saying things other than him being a SG idol. (maybe I'm thinking too much liao, swayed by other ppl's opinions...) This gave a very big hint liao, I think Sylvester's fan shld be mentally prepared. Aiyoh, you see how that Dick Lee enjoyed himself when listening to Taufik sing...act like he's on ecstasy. Ken Lim a bit anti-climax leh...no wonder ppl want to throw sth at him...haha, j/k. (I wonder what would happen if that thing really hits him...)

I waited and waited and waited so long for the results and they drag and drag and drag (making me run in and out my comp room so many times). Sing sing sing, then commercial, sing sing, commercial, sing, commercial, *2-3 minutes*...commercial again. I hate this kind of event. That Daniel Ong hor, went to interview the celebs and asked a sensitive qn on who is going to win. Of course they have to sit on the fence lah...cannot afford to side with anyone mah...if not either side will be unhappy and their reputation lost. Those celebs replied "Both", might as well dun ask.

Anyway the result is out liao...kinda expected. I was rooting for Taufik initially then I changed my mind, and changed again, and changed again until I feel I'm not in the place to support anyone cos I didn't watch their performance for the past few months. I think this result will make majority happy since Taufik's talent is you mu gong du one. Some ppl said that Singapore will be disgraced in the World Idol if Sylvester were to become the SG Idol, and several other criticisms abt him. So far I've heard no one giving negative feedback to Taufik so I think he's the best choice after all. But kelong situations can always happen...
