| Things go wrong... |
| The last day of
the month liao! During PW period the class was surprised that Mr Koh came
in. I tot he was just a relief teacher but he said he's going to take my
class for both PW and CAP periods permanently...yay! (no more Mrs Ong!) This
means we will be seeing him more often than the other teachers...not bad lah.
(at least we can slack during CAP! No need to be "forced" to read Newsweek
liao!) During break I quickly went to buy my uniform from the tailor. (one set of uniform is sooooo super ex lor...need to borrow money from ppl...very bu hao yi si...) When I went to try my uniform in the toilet I realised that my shirt got no pocket lor...(like the girl's blouse...) Then I quickly went to change those defect shirts. Again, I realised that I dun have the big red plastic bag and I cannot put all my new uniform into my bag. So I went to ask for the bag lor...but the person said no more liao...so I've no choice but to take the small white plastic bag, and try to squeeze everything into my bag, which became very bloated... CT session was abt the principal's address. Seeing that a lot of ppl very sian, he told everyone to stand up to do some stretching exercise. He led us with the exercises and we were supposed to follow his actions. Aiyoh when did Mr Ang become a PE teacher?! After that many speakers started to take their turn to speak abt the cleanliness of college, school rules, uniforms...blah blah, until 2.20 lor...so late... When I walked past the central plaza I saw the band ppl already gather in the inner plaza, preparing to start their performance. Becos I was very very hungry at that time so I tot I could take a bite quickly first before reporting to the band. (And I moved quickly across the plaza...hopefully the band ppl won't see me) Unfortunately just as I was abt to take my instrument upon returning, the band began to play liao...so I got no choice but to slack around at my class bench for the time being lor. Then I noticed how Rosemary put in so much effort in campaigning for the elections...I really admire her determination! (then Thazin came along and treated me as her maid....hmph!) After the whole mei2 you3 qi4 fen4 de performance by the band, Hew Hui came and scolded me for not reporting to the band immediately after the CT session... After that it was just sectionals lor...the girls were complaining abt how horrible the 3 pieces for esplanade were...and Hew Hui told us to fake since got so many clarinets...haha. When sectionals ended we ate mango ice-cream...very delicious and cooling! Then I chatted with Michelle and she told me abt NYGH school compound. Before heading home I went to Coro to buy something... |
| 30 March Tuesday |
| Another sian day |
| Suddenly Tuesday
became the day that I am dismissed the latest...4.40pm. Another tired day
like yesterday. Ya...today Mrs Ho was very angry with us...I think becos we
were getting really noisy and restless. (the students don't seem to be
afraid of her anymore...) Even when she screams at us, some ppl still can da
dan make noise after that...haiz... After that I realised that the seniors also got the same timetable as us...break before PE then dismiss...Very bad for the PE department to come up with such horrible timeslot. (then we got no excuse to go late liao...) Luckily today it rained so the teacher let us off very early. Haiz...NAPFA in about 2 month's time...need to train up liao...but I think I am too lazy to do so...hehe. Nothing really happened today lah...that's why it is so sian... |
| 29 March Monday |
| Sian at first, happy later... |
| This morning I
just felt very sian...it's just like a huge burden on me. Firstly my reed is
broken, secondly I haven't done those tutorials that I'm supposed to do by
last week, thirdly I haven't replied to those eagerly waiting for my
letter...(all becos of yesterday lah!) Luckily the first few periods is the
council nominees thingy and I'm supposed to go LT2 to slack and watch the
ppl xian chou. We were shocked by the first nominee, Zack, who 'splat' the
whole paper of cream on his face...then all the councilors and PA ppl have
to go and clean up the mess on the floor and laptop...haha. Next up was
Kenneth and Huishi (sp??) from S31. Though I dunno them, I think their
presentation was good and powerpoint very funny. Then it was Kaizhi, Jieying
and Samuel...I like their video a lot! After that was Mong Seng and Bingye...Bingye
sounded very poetic while for mong seng...no comments...Lastly was Rosemary
who managed to prepare a video despite the short notice...I admire her
courage too... After the intro the 9 ppl were told to sing the college song in both English and Chinese (of course Chinese version easier to sing lah). 5 of them are supposed to propose to the opposite sex for marriage (the girls were perpetually laughing while being 'proposed') and the other 4 were made to dance the right jerk left jerk thingy. (Kaizhi...tsk tsk...) Then when the 9 of them were made to dance freely to the music...Mong Seng started to become very obscene (pffft...) Shortly after S3 was dismissed liao. The S7 ppl still in audi...heard they got 40 over ppl....scary Then the boring lessons resumed...yup there's one more new classmate, Geraldine, previously from S7 that appealed in. When dismissal, I met Yong Feng with his VJC uniform (looks so light) and he showed me his VJC notes which looks more compact than hc ones. (very ke xi lah...if Yong Feng continue to appeal very hard then he can stay liao...cos S3 still got vacancies) Soon the rest of S32 came and gave him a warm welcome...what an honour! Realised that Xinling and I are the only junior S3 band members...also came to know that Zhaoyang is going to join band (I think he said he want to join clarinet liao... =S) Haiz...I tot Capriccio over then the band can relax liao... but suddenly we were told to practise our combined pieces with tchs band (eek...I dun want to go back there...) Then some ppl started to stress out, piss off, blow up, etc....Somemore we are performing on next Thurs liao!!! That's fast! Really die liao...and the tchs band not say very strong either...hope they dun rely on us too much. Stewpit anniversary, what crap! After band Xiaoxuan, Xinling, Sixun and I were chatting happily at the 32 bench. (more like gossiping). At the canteen we met Michelle and started talking abt her scandal...the girls really so ji za (siao char bor)...can die from heart attack after hearing their screams one! I also feel sad for Sixun, if she qie4 er2 bu4 she3 and appeal then she might get in hc liao. |
| 28 March Sunday |
| Wasted day... |
| Today I woke up at 1 pm lor...then
after I eat, bathe and everything it's about 2 liao. Somemore my family is
supposed to visit my grandma in the afternoon... Talk talk talk and talk
until about 9 then reached home...and now I am updating my webbie...indeed
the most unconstructive day of the year... Once again thanks for those who came for the concert...Yesterday night, I opened all the presents and felt very gan dong by each and every one of them...I can see that they put a lot of effort in preparing their gifts for individual ppl, unlike me and Jeff who just rushed through the presents. I didn't really know abt this 'tradition' until last thursday...by that time it is too late liao. I think I am going to give my seniors some additional things.... Looking forward to tmr after dismissal... |
| 27 March Saturday |
| Capriccio |
| Today is the day
that I have been waiting for...the annual band concert Capriccio...I am not
looking forward to it, but just wanted it to be over quickly . For those who
went, thank you for your support. For those who didn't...Ahem Ahem! This
concert somehow gave me a sense of belonging to the band...but pity I dun
really know a lot of band ppl well, only my section and two or three ppl
from other sections. I am happy that the concert ended well...and hope the
audiences enjoyed it too! At noon, Jeff and I met at Causeway Point to buy presents for our section seniors. The section got only 2 juniors with 7 seniors! So imbalanced. Jeff and I walked around the shopping centre until we decided to buy 3 small souvenirs from Popular. Then we went to a gift shop in Coro to buy 2 pairs of cute animals --- kangaroo and hamster. Though I think it is not very nice to split up the pair and give it to 2 persons, I think one is cute enough and one pair is quite ex. When I reached school, it was one hour late but I still see some band ppl slacking around (yawn...feeling very sleepy at that time)... I got many surprises when I reached the bandroom ... 6 presents in total from my section seniors and Xiaoxuan ... so gan dong...then I suddenly feel that Jeff and I should give then separately. (then both of us will be pok gai liao...) There was a rehearsal in the audi for the PA and the band to coordinate. (the lightings and video part...didn't get to see the video lah) The PA sounded like they were very bu shuang the band liddat...maybe cos we were very late. After that I went to change into my "totally black" attire then went to eat...I think my tie is nice...hehe. Then the band was scolded by Mr Soh due to unpunctuality ... :( Finally the audiences started streaming in and I was surprised that it was almost a full house (since all tickets were sold) Never seen this in tchs band concerts before... Then we started playing...something happened in the first piece (if the audience noticed...)...dun ask me cos I dun want to talk abt it anymore. Before I realised it the first half was already over. Then during interval I met with some ppl from my senior class...and Mong Seng. Haiz...nobody from my class went to find me...sob... The stage was bustling with ppl...friends chatting happily with each other...while I was stoning most of the time...sob...I received chocolates from Khai Qing and my unknown angel...and a stalk of flower from Xian Wei...I didn't receive what I was really anticipating... The second half resumed...with the alumni then saxophone ensemble followed by percussion ensemble which is a bit funny...and very 'seh'. (I peeped through the curtains) Then the clarinetists were busy shifting the front row chairs before and after the ensembles when the lights are out. My section took a section photo too...the girls were so excited that they kept hugging each other. Finally the whole band was back and we played some more pieces accompanied by videos. (LOTR and Peter Pan) There was no encore pieces prepared so we played Bugler's Holiday for the third time in public...to some ppl it might be very sian...The concert ended with the school song. The band was given 20 min after that to interact with their friends...but I've got nobody to talk to (so lonely) so I just sat with my mum lor. Then it was clear-up time...everyone was busy taking photos...haiz...too bad I didn't bring a camera. Nobody wanted me to take a photo with them...maybe I am just not good looking enough...hehe. I had a really great time tonight...being with my section esp. (seniors will be leaving soon...sob) The upcoming concert is the tchs ad hc combined band, strings and chinese orchestra. Finally relieved from all those 'intensive' band pracs... |
| 26 March Friday |
| Half-day |
| During GP, the
newcomers were told to write an essay for Mrs Soo to judge their language
standards...so ke lian, while the rest watched a presentation about peer
relationship (friends, BGR and homosexuality) This is the only GP
presentation which I listened the most attentively throughout...cos I wanted
to know more about the 'friends' part (dun xiang wai wai har!) which is a
problem in our class now. I think the presenters raised many good points and
I wanted to ask them more questions but I dun want to put them in a
difficult position so I just kept quiet. Then it was the very last chinese
culture lecture....tot it would be more interesting but ended up even more
boring to me...The speaker was a important person from dunnowhere...and he
spoke abt dunnowat chinese associations in Singapore...never bothered to
listen. After that was break, where I chatted with Jin Hin for a while, followed by Maths tutorial...then dismiss liao! Haha...what a slack day...I stayed back to help to tie up the programme booklet...(very last-minute leh!) I hate the stupid string...gets frayed so easily...Shi En and I tied about more than 100 booklets...so tedious... I went home first then set off again to buy a silver tie a black long-sleeved shirt for tmr's concert. The tie was easily found...the only problem lies with the shirt. Becos it is BLACK...this made it so rare...sooo rare that I have to go from Bukit Panjang Plaza's NTUC to Choa Chu Kang Lot 1's Seiyu (still dun have) and finally to Woodland Causeway Point's Metro, where the salesgirls were friendly and helped me choose a tie that fits the shirt. (one type of shirt left so no choice...) But...both the shirt and the tie is so expensive!!! However I still bought it cos I was tired of searching, it was late and I need it for tmr...haiz...branded clothing mah! What to do? Yup....tmr's concert is 7 pm, not 6. Heard the audi will be full...look out for me ok? Front row...so should be no problem...dun laugh when I (or the band) make a mistake ok? And Yong Feng, why you cannot come? .... t_t |
| 25 March Thursday |
| 1 more new classmate... |
| First period was
Chem lecture...I think Mrs Ho was in good mood today...kept smiling
away...but then the ppl started making a lot of noise liao. Today's lecture
was more complicated but I think I manage to grasp the concept...hehe...affinity
to chemistry.. After that was swimming lesson, where I practised my strokes
for next week's test...25m frontcrawl only with flutter-kick, 50m any stoke
and 30sec treadwater. Practising at the small pool was fine, until we had to
move to the deeper pool...then got a bit scared liao...(esp Youcheng) I ran
out of breath when I swam to the middle of the pool...but I couldn't rest
cos the water too deep liao. So I was struggling to keep afloat by using my
legs...I tot I almost drowned...but I still managed to reach the other side
panting heavily away...I am really a bad swimmer... After break was Chem prac where I saw another newcomer Shuk-in from RGS too...heard that she appealed many times into hc but couldn't get a place in S7 so she decided to come to S3 instead. However she seems very unhappy in the class...maybe she misses her friends badly. Huiru also said she felt very awkward in her new class cos she knew nobody there...a bit sad lah...hope she will return to s34...which is highly unlikely... After dismissal our class stayed back to play icebreaker games with the newcomers...Youcheng suggested a few games but didn't end well...whacko was uninteresting so we played the squatting game with switching names...very fun and funny, some ppl blur blur one got caught by surprise...But...the one that made the most mistakes is the organiser Youcheng himself...hahaha...(maybe he think he won't lose so very the bu4 zhuan1 xin1) We made him do a forfeit of singing at the central plaza. (didn't really hear him sing cos it was over as soon as he started) Meanwhile some ppl were playing with water guns...kids... Band rehearsal in the hall...Michelle was very very upset for the way things in the band were...(never mind lah...the seniors are retiring soon...you will be freed from all these worries) Hope I can know those newcomers better... |
| 24 March Wednesday |
| New classmates! |
| Yesterday night
Yong Feng was very happy...glad to know that. Being in the same class with
Terence and Jonathan, I guess he must be enjoying their company and making
new friends shouldn't be a problem to him...wish him all the best in his
next 2 years in VJC...(must come back and visit often hor!) There are so many changes in my class...Bai Fan, Yan Ying, Lee Wei and Xiao Xin left hc, Huiru switched to S67 and Amanda to S33. As a return, we got 4 new classmates! Rosemary, Thazin, Jia Ling (all SGeans) and Chen Xi, who's a PRC transferred from S6 (I think?). Welcome to 34! So altogether s34 got 23 ppl now...so-so lah... This morning actually the band wanted to play something one...but the J1s were told to stay back in the central plaza...so too bad. When I went back to my class, I saw 3 new girls from RGS, RV and Nan Hua. Youcheng was assigned the task to bring them around, while the rest went for final chinese culture "lesson", to receive the results for the test...I got 73/100 and a certificate! Yay! No one except Wenjia will take CL AO...so Mdm Siew a bit she3 bu4 de2 leave us lor... After that we saw Youcheng and the 3 girls then we went up to them and introduced each other...I think they are quite nice and friendly...hehe... Then we went to tchs and eat together. Talked to them a bit...got to know them more... During CT session Chen Xi joined us and the whole class "officially" welcomed the 4 newcomers...then Mdm Yeo went through tutorial...pffft After that was the mass dance in the central plaza and all were welcomed to join...(the dances remind me of the orientation days...) Everyone was in high spirits...but I watched only...no partner wat! Got sort of that qi4 fen4 lah... Then during band prac that stewpit Mr Leng calling the tchs clarinetists morons...go to hell lah! |
| 23 March Tuesday |
| Separation |
| There were bad
news this morning. Many ppl I knew were unsuccessful in their
appeal...including Yong Feng whom I really want him to stay...guess that's
part of life...reality may be cruel at times. There are so many 2nd intakers
and many ppl appealing too...difficult to succeed in appeal. (heard my class
got 2 successful appeals...) There wasn't much good news in the band either,
I assume that those who didn't come this morning may be the ones who cannot
make it to hc. Seems that all those 'important' ppl to me has left and those
who are not still stays...really upset. Saw a bit of 2nd intake orientation...and heard that they will be joining us for proper lesson on Friday...(which is half-day...yay!). Maths lecture was Mr Koh to finish up the last bit of polynomial, then Mr Yap to teach a topic which I think we should self-study instead. Mdm Yeo and Mrs Soo were absent...Mr Lee went through tutorial really fast...didn't know that Miss Wee this type of person plays PS2...I didn't look as sian diao as yesterday. During chem lecture I saw 'that' teacher again...(I hate her voice...) She is not as noisy as before...she just stood there, arms folded...and everybody quickly walked in, settled down and kept really silent...(such power!) When she stopped talking in the middle of her lecture and scanned around, ppl became very quiet....she didn't get any chance to pick any student cos we were simply too quiet and we behaved ourselves...haha...zhen pei fu... Haiz...regarding the posting results...I still feel very unfair. First 3 months to familiarise with the school...only to end up in other schools ...it's like all the things they've done before were futile (it's like a half-eaten cake)...And it is stressful to adapt to the new surroundings quickly and catch up with school work at the same time...(I won't be as critical as Xiaoxuan) Haizzz.....really dunno what to say...just disappointed and upset... |
| 22 March Monday |
| 1st Day of Term 2 |
| Argh...I arrived
late to school today and so I didn't really noticed what happened at the ct
bench...I just saw quite a few unfamiliar ppl. In the morning, Mr Ang
welcomed the 2nd intakers and we (1st intakers) were told to join them in
the auditorium in the first period. Everyone was cheering until the teacher
said it was only for one period...so anti-climax. Lessons resume per normal
after 1st period for the 1st intakers while the 2nd intakers experienced
what we had on the very first day in hc. Not fair! How come we dun get to
join them for orientation? (unlike VJC...) (I heard for NJC, the 2nd
intakers are given the 1st week to catch up with their work and the
orientation will only start on the 2nd week...even worse) In the auditorium, Mr Ang (I hate the way he pronounce "family" into "farmalie") gave his speech after which the CL HOD kept blabbering away, persuading us to continue taking Chinese. Then it was Maths Lecture with Mdm Yeo...the LT was so quiet unlike before... After that it was tutorials, lectures, blah blah... (yup...I saw Jin Hin and Wei Zong too) During break I saw some ppl coming back again...yay. (esp those posted to njc) Hopefully tmr can see some of them back again...esp Yong Feng.... (hmm...abt Youcheng...very suspicious...) Tmr is like more or less settled liao...if not there's no turning back anymore...hopefully 33 will regain its liveliness again... Today dunnowhy I a bit sian diao...haiz...no one to cheer me up (except one person who understand my worries)...I dun expect anybody from my class to do that anyway... |
| 21 March Sunday |
| Founder's Day |
| When I arrived
to school in the morning, I met up with Kang Hao and Robin near the
concourse area and chatted with them for a while. Later in the audi, we were
assigned the seating arrangement, where I sat at the corner next to William.
Then he told me that his class, S33, got abt 10 ppl cannot get into hc
(that's a lot!) Even some 8 pointers also cannot get in...and some PRCs
too...while others wanted to change fac. Haiz...then 33 will become a bit
lifeless without those active and 'noisy' ppl...There seem to be a lot of
changes going on in S3...dunno why... After that the award winners went to the concourse to take a group photo. (stupid pillars keep blocking the view) The photographers seemed to take photos until so shuang liddat...so many test shots. Finally when everyone had settled down, the photographers kept flashing their cameras as if there's no tomorrow liddat...just as I tot it was over, they said, "One more time!" When I tot it was more than enough already, they still said," One more! One more!" Just when I tot it was really really over and enough liao, then they said, "Last time, last time!" .... -__-" siao... Back in the audi, Mr Bala was desperately trying to promote the $85 Tower Block replica by calling each and everyone's name to see if the person will buy...Of course I didn't buy lar...so ex and 'din de'... Finally we entered the hall and waited for the guest of honour Lim Bo Seng to arrive...the piano (or the mike?) was producing funny sounds....after that was the principal's address, where he said that tchs' O lvl L1B5 score is ranked 1st....highly doubtful. Then there came the long and boring prize giving ceremony...Zzzz After we were dismissed, there was a poke-the-eye session...everyone started to poke each other's eyes...ya rite...Btw the reception food is really nice...yummy...that was my lunch... Really dunno what's going to happen tmr...will there be chaos? Rang wo men shi mu yi dai... |
| 20 March Saturday |
| JAE Posting Results |
| Not very
good...heard quite a few ppl cannot get into hc, a bit sad lah...since
they've been already here for 3 months. To Yong Feng, you must get into hc
with all your might ok? I think some ppl from the band also cannot get
in...not very sure. Dunno about by class yet, but I am certain that some ppl
will be leaving too...34 will miss you...According to Yong Feng, Jin Hin got
into hc and he may join the S3 family...yay...hope the 4 of us can be
together once more ok? I think on Monday there will be some sort of da bian (big change)...where some familiar faces will be gone...sob...and new faces will emerge...yay? Separation and reunion...you ren huan xi you ren chou...may be a bit chaotic in the morning. (A beginning of a new era...) Then ppl will start asking where the "others" have gone, while others will be introducing their 'new' friends to their classmates...blah blah blah... As for me, I hope for good news when the posting results are finalised on that evening... I just got my new specs just now...hope I will look more youthful wearing it as compared to the 'older' looking gold rimmed specs. Some ppl said that my previous specs got a very abnormal tilt on the frame...so I better go and check the new one with my friends on Monday...(pang guan zhe qing wat!) Last time I heard many -ve comments on my 'weird' looking specs...hopefully this time I will receive more +ve comments. Time really flies...tmr is the last day of holiday liao...and I haven't done all my homework yet...(ya I am a very hardworking person). Somemore tmr also must attend the boring Founder's Day, hope it can end by noon so I can go home and nap...(ya I am a sleepyhead) Capriccio is only one week away...how? What to do? Help!? (ya I am a very tense person) I'll rate this holiday 8/10 lah...quite well spent... (for me) |
| 18 & 19 March Thursday & Friday |
| Outing! |
|
I had an outing with Yong Feng, Zhe Han and Jin Hin yesterday...I tot we were going to play cards but we went pool instead. (Yay...I've learned a new skill!) Actually pool is not that hard after all...I find the ball easy to shoot, but hard to aim to the desired location. I can't believe Yong Feng and me, the rookies, can actually win the veterans, Zhe Han and Jin Hin....4 times in a row somemore...(maybe Yong Feng and I are talented...haha) Btw we played at the Singapore Shopping Centre (more like a hotel cos the place is too enclosed) The pool area is so hidden as well, by those arcade machines. In overall, I had much fun...and I look forward to the next outing... Yesterday morning there's band prac...a bit boring and stuffy...cos we had it in the hall. I hate those percussion instruments (esp the timpani)...I hate those stairs too...and why must the percussion room (and band prac room too) be located so high up?? |
| 16 & 17 March Tuesday & Wednesday |
| Movie Mood! |
| I've been
watching movies for these 2 days...dunno why I got the sudden urge to watch
movies...maybe I dun want to spend so much on buying VCDs. I kinda regretted
not watching movies like LOTR and Matrix for the past few years. Then when
everyone's talking abt it I can't understand a thing...haiz...I think next
time I dun want to buy those expensive VCDs and DVDs liao...just go and buy
tickets and watch movie...anyway when I watch a movie once, it is enough to
leave an impression on me liao. If a movie is really that nice until I want
to watch a second time, then wait for TV to show lor... Haven't been doing any homework for the past few days, I think most of the ppl also dun feel like doing too...wait until the Sunday before then 'pia' as much as possible. Btw I'm invited to the tchs Founder's Day event to receive something I'm not even sure of...must be very sian one...every year also like that...Zzzz.... Hey there's Huang Cheng today! Heard the audiences enjoyed the performance yesterday...unfortunately I didn't go cos cannot find any companion. For those who went, must tell me abt it hor! Looking foward to tmr evening's outing...err...I wonder if there's anything we can do except playing cards? Ya...stay until midnight ok? Then we can sleep there...haha |
| 15 March Monday |
| STJ |
| Yay...it's STJ today! Before that I went to Orchard
to meet up with Xiaoxuan and Khai Qing for shopping and just walking around.
Then I realised it is a bad idea...later I split up with them and went to
HMV to see VCDs, then Cineleisure to see the current movies. (btw the beach
thingy was cancelled and those ppl went to watch Haunted Mansion instead)
After that XX and KQ met up with me at Cineleisure, where we decided to go
Suntec first to walk around and see shops... Finally it was 6.30 and most ppl had already arrived at Marche entrance. First time there...the place really looks like a marketplace. Ya...the food is quite expensive so I had ham and cheese crepe and chicken pasta, which is already enough to make me full. After seeing Youcheng drink, I decided to go and try too. Then my head started to spin and my face grew hot and red...(first time mah...) I began to have a headache...(the girls were laughing at something I dun wish to say....) After dinner, a group of us went to play cards at the huge space below esplanade. (didn't know there was such place) Then Xiaoxuan kept saying I am drunk when my mind is still clear. We played until 10 before dispersing...haiz...stupid headache... |
| 14 March Sunday |
| Mugger Too! |
| I was mugging
for the whole day...and finally completed PMI and Analysis A5 tutorials! Yay.
Around noon I was watching Huan Zhu Ge Ge 2...despite being the third time
liao...Dunno why I still find the show very nice...esp the part where Ziwei
and Little Swallow is about to be executed. I am thinking if I should watch
Ai Qing Bai Pi Shu...I bought the vcd few years ago but haven't watch it
yet... Tmr is stj...since a lot of ppl not going to beach, I am also not going to get myself thrown into the water too. Since the Marche is at Suntec, I think I can go to orchard and gai gai after that. |
| 13 March Saturday |
| Mugger |
| I was sitting at
the ct bench mugging away since morning 7.40am until band prac starts at
12.30pm. During that grueling 5 hours, I met many ppl who were surprised
that I came so early to school. First was Samuel Yeo, then Khai Qing, then
Yan Ying, Kelvin Ng, Jie Ying, Yiu Yan, Ming Lei, John, and after which the
other band members started to arrive. The worst thing is that after this
5-hour "marathon", I was still unable to complete my PMI tutorial...what a
failure...(there are so many questions wat!) Actually this is not the first
time I became so "cuckoo" to come so early to school, back in chinese high,
I used to do that too before band prac starts in the afternoon.
Unfortunately there was no definite place then for me to mug (classrooms
aren't available) and somemore the tables are so dirty. Now in hc, there's
finally the ct bench for my mugging purpose...so I better make use of it. Capriccio is coming and yet the practices still seem so slack. Mr Leng keeps saying "we'll fix this next time." when there isn't much time left. (or is it that the band really played so well?) Becos of STJ, I am not going for the band chalet. I am thinking if I should go to the beach and get myself thrown into the water, or go for the dinner only... Today I saw a madwoman in the bus talking angrily to herself and waving her hands about... The place where you can encounter the most number of crazy ppl is in public transport like buses....met a lot of such ppl... |
| 12 March Friday |
| Last day of the term...but not very happy... |
| Ya...I didn't
type wrongly...I am really a bit unhappy today (not becos it is the last
day) despite looking perfectly normal in my own self. As I traveled to
school this morning I was already feeling unhappy until I reached the ct
bench where I saw Yong Feng and brightened up. From then until after PE,
I've a lot of things in my mind which made me feel depressed... :( I dun
feel like talking to anyone in my class despite doing so. I will talk about
it later. First was the chinese culture test...we were given 40 min to do 100 mcqs. I did very slowly (as expected) and end up leaving one column (20 questions) of answers blank. Thanks a lot to kind Wenjia for telling me his answers...then at last I managed to "attempt" all questions. Thank you very much for helping me cheat...(no sarcasm) Finally out of several days, I got the chance to take class photos liao. First it was with Mr Koh in the classroom, then with Miss Chong at the corridor, and finally with Mdm Yeo in the "garden". Unlike Mong Seng's, mine is not a digital camera...so must wait until the photos developed then can admire them. Actually I wanted a photo with the junior and senior class together but then... Today is the last day of the "first 3 months" which is like an orientation term for me. It is like a turning point for the past few months, after which new faces will appear and those who couldn't make it...leave. To Yong Feng, I hope you can continue to stay in hc, if not must appeal until you can stay hor! I am not sure if anyone from my class were to leave, but I can't promise that 100% of my classmates can stay. In my opinion the "first 3 months" is like an emotional torment whereby it gives the students time to habituate and adapt into the college then reshapes everything when bonds are starting to take root. Things will more or less change after the holidays, and hopefully it will change for the better. (see 10 March entry) Some people in the class seem to be discontent with each other, I can't deny that I am not involved in this too. It is true that I dislike some ppl, and I won't be surprised if somebody dun like me. Dunno how long is it going to carry on but I am getting a bit sick abt it. It will also make life very miserable for the next 2 years. Maybe time can change everything...Also, I observed something which made me feel a bit disappointed...maybe I am over-sensitive, maybe it is not like what I think...I really dunno... I feel busy during this holiday...perhaps I've too much commitments throughout the week. Hopefully I can make use of this holiday to socialise, unlike previous holidays where I was very antisocial, only staying at home and play the whole day. |
| 11 March Thursday |
| Winter... |
| It is so cold
today and if this carries on, it will snow liao.... I got 30/40 for my chem
lecture test...not bad lah...it's an A liao...considering it is rather
'hard' for some ppl. I got 4 wrongs in MCQs and 3 of them is Section B
"which-is-true" questions. I dun like those type of questions...harder to
choose options. For the free response question, I only got 1 out of 7
marks...haiz I expected that liao. Swimming lesson is quite fun today...in the first half we just swam many laps using frontcrawl then later we played water captain's ball...girls vs boys and the teacher's with the girls' side. I was the 'defender' trying to block the ball to the girls' catcher. At first the boys are leading cos the girls used most of their energy to scream...(catch the ball, scream...pass the ball, also scream...whenever the ball is not in anyone's hands they would scream) After seeing the girls so wu neng, the teacher decided to help them by taking the frontline. That was when the girls started to score a lot and everyone began to crowd around the girls' catcher area too. Then there was this RV guy from S60 wanting to distract the catcher by splashing water on her...the girl had no choice but to scream lor. Youcheng, being the catcher too, had nothing to do at the other side...haha. Overall the game is very exciting (with those girls creating the tension) and I think I did quite a good job as well! (maybe cos the girls are lousy..) Finally no more titrations for chem prac...heating is fun...^_^ I am so happy that I was able to heat the solid to constant mass in my first try! Dunno why Mr Koh is trying to 'act cute' during maths lecture by making those funny noises...Maybe someone commented to him that his lecture is a bit boring then he tried to make it "interesting"...but he sort of overdid it lar...very the fake. (cannot achieve until Mr Yap de jing jie) Anyway I think Mr Koh is quite a childish person lah...haha. After that is a physics talk about laser...*yawn* Not interested in this kind of technology stuff...too chim liao. Didn't know 'laser' was an acronym until today... I promised Kaizhi to write a testimonial for him (see 3 March entry) though I dun really know him for long yet...but since he approached me then I bu ren xin ju jue. (btw I was shocked to know that Mong Seng is also running for the council... w*** *e *o s****** *o*? ***r *y **a* ***y!!! Censored due to sensitivity...) STJ is coming soon! It's going to be held next Monday...there will be games, food and lots of fun! (why am I 'advertising' for An Li?...) The not very fun part is that we are going to get wet and dirty on that day...ya...I am a clean freak! |
| 10 March Wednesday |
| Haha... |
| I tot during the
last Chinese culture tutorial I can slack a little but end up doing another
AO Chinese paper...I think the paper is much harder than the O lvl Higher
Chinese one becos of the MCQs (guessing work) and the "cloze passage". The
compre only 4 questions (yay!!) then the summary must 'suo' until like siao.
Now I know why the MOE change the mother tongue criteria in university
admission...if I were to take then surely do badly one...(cos no zao ju to
bei...haha) Nvm...I am saying bye bye to chinese liao...and bye bye to Mdm
Siew too...sob sob... To Ms Kwee...congratulations...your son will grow up to become a super lamer...(oops...haha...) Then during CT session Mdm Yeo just chit chat with us...and ask everyone to give suggestions on how the class can improve. (sorry for not contributing much to the suggestions) It is kinda obvious that my class lacks unity.... It is shocking to know that Mdm Yeo's previous class got about 20 ppl with 4 Distinctions, somemore she says S3 always does very well...so pressurising...Seriously I hope after the 2nd intake the class will become "better"...ya...I am also waiting eagerly for the newcomers...more SG girls...and no more chinese high boys pls... Let's talk about chess...though I know how to play, I got absolutely no strategy at all...usually for the first few moves I will follow the opponent then subsequently I will just wait to be "jiang-ed" and die. I think chess can be fun but it takes far too long to play a round...(I dun want to sleep halfway) Everytime when 2 persons play at the class bench, then other ppl will crowd around them and ka-jiow, gradually taking over the game, leaving the players just sit there and watch the "auto-play". It was supposed to have sectionals today but I am the only one in my section so I went to chat with Michelle Ang, the only flute player there...(btw she's both my band angel and mortal...what a coincidence right?) She likes to crap a lot then we laughed until our cheeks cramped liao...surprisingly she lives in the Chestnut area so we continued to talk and talk in the bus lor...haha...she's so funny...hahaha. |
| 9 March Tuesday |
| Chemistry Lecture Test |
| Since morning everyone has been
studying for the test. (But I think study or not doesn't make much
difference anyway since it is more on our knowledge) I was slow at the first
page MCQ cos the questions a bit complicated then for subsequent pages it
becomes better. I spent a lot of time thinking of how to balance that stupid
gypsum equation...but end up still doesn't look right...argh! As for the
last section, I think they really mean "free response" cos I dun find
anything much to write...maybe they want us to draw tables, form equations,
draw diagrams, write essay, plot graphs...if not how to add up to 7 marks?!
Luckily the marks not counted...I think can pass lah. Started on the first pure F Maths topic today...finally! The front part was interesting until the alphabeta part. *takes a deep breath* alphabetagammadeltaalphabetagammadeltaelfabaytagummadecka...oops. Eh? It reminds me of another one in the morning assembly...*breathe again* SSEFNSTSSSEFNSTSSSEFNSTSSSEFNNTSSSEFNSTS...haha...the teacher say until so shuang liddat... Ya..my "wish" really come true...it rained this morning...then after school when I just got off the LRT it started pouring again. (just my luck!) I heard somewhere flooded yesterday...Actually living in that area quite good leh...can experience floods and earthquakes... |
| 8 March Monday |
| Rainy Day |
| Ya...it has been
raining for the whole day liao (since yesterday night)...so cold outdoors
but so warm indoors. (anybody noticed that the gap between the left wing
class bench and the auditorium got no shelter one?) Hope tomorrow will rain
also...hehe...but a bit inconvenient lah since cannot walk through the
central plaza, and the campus is full of unsheltered gaps.
I received a 4th letter from my 2nd angel already, but still dunno who is he. -___- Unlike other seniors, he replies really fast and efficient...hmm...who could be so enthu in writing to me? Some ppl say my "blog" very lame...aiyah...if you are very bored online then can come here and read lor. Enjoyed Ms Kwee's lecture and her lame stuff. The new lecturer for physics is going a bit slow but at least he gives us time to ju jue. Nothing interesting worth mentioning today...by the way study hard for the chem test tmr hor! Argh...so many topics to study! |
| 6 & 7 March Saturday and Sunday |
| Boring weekend |
| Was at home for
the whole day on Saturday, doing nothing but maths tutorial. Finally
finished Analysis Tutorial A4 on Sunday afternoon. (I think I wasted another
Saturday again...) Yup...that's all I did...not very efficient right? Went shopping with my friend this afternoon for a while...ate the new KFC's Shrooms Burger...it is sooo tiny that one bite and the burger's gone. It is not very expensive anyway...I thought of buying some games for the holidays...but scared later no time to play then waste money again. Nvm...I dun even think I got the time to play any games at all for the next 2 years, unlike last year which was my intensive gaming year. The J2s are having block test so I may not see them as often. Somemore this coming week got Chem and Chinese Culture test...Haiz....but once this week is over, there come the March holidays! |
| 5 March Friday |
| A level results released |
| Lessons resume per
normal...unlike in Chinese High where there's analysis of the O lvl results.
I got back my very first proper GP essay during GP period...at least it is
more than I expected...26/50. (I tot I will fail wat...haha) Then during the
final Chinese Culture lecture, I was busy chatting with Wenjia about PS2
games. All I knew was that the lecturer flashed many pictures of food which
made me very hungry. I wasn't paying attention at all...just talking with
Wenjia non-stop. (I wonder why 'some' teacher who dun teach chinese also
came in to listen...) Then after break came a long string of boring periods...until PE, when I saw many ex-Hwa Chongians outside the auditorium after collecting the results. Miss Chong got a perfect score of 4 As, 2 distinctions and A1 for GP...(wow!!!) Then I went to the inner plaza to see the summary of results...got improve a bit lah...(though % pass for GP dropped) and also got quite a lot of subjects with 100% passes. Eventually the crowd began to disperse as I watched ppl play chess until about 6 pm. Heard Youcheng tok cok again... By the way my brother got A, B, C and C6 for GP (yay...at least he passed...) Yeah...my expectations for GP very low one... |
| 4 March Thursday |
| S34 Day!! |
| During break the
senior and junior S34 went to the canteen to celebrate. The fun part is when
Xuanyou attempted to uncork the champagne bottle...I didn't expect the cork
to fly so far...then the drink poured all over he place and ended up Xuanyou
himself had to mop the floor...haha. I tot of drinking more but then it's
for the whole class wat...After that everybody yam seng until the canteen
going to collapse liao. At that time we were already late for our lessons... When I reached the chem lab, I realised Mr Lee had locked the latecomers outside the lab. Then Bingye started to express his displeasure about Mr Lee (and other teachers...). Dunno if Mr Lee heard it...but he still let us in eventually after we told him about the celebration. (I dun think he will be so evil to lock us outside for the whole period lah...lalalala....) During PE I found out that Youcheng (finally he came for 2 days in a row...) had hydrophobia once and then overcame it liao...(psst...last time when I was small I cried in a swimming pool very loudly then everybody looked at me lor...very paiseh right?) Unlike Youcheng who claimed that he learnt everything himself (dunno if he got tc or not), I am a very slow learner one...from Sec 1 until now still no improvement despite so many swimming lessons. Now I feel that swimming lessons more qing song than last time in tchs, cos the teachers won't scream and shout, won't countdown, won't ask us to do pumping...and they also a bit dun care onez... After school, I went to buy Maths TYS, kop some postcards, see Xuanyou uncork the second bottle (sorry that I forgot to bring my camera...). After that Xiaoxuan 'invited' me to her classroom. Then everyone see me so happy dun want me to leave liddat. (or are they trying to tease me?) I realised everytime in my presence, Xiaoxuan will become feng feng dian dian one...maybe she likes to bully me...sob sob... |
| 3 March Wednesday |
| Another slack day... |
| S33 decorated
their class bench with balloons today, so I tot it's someone's birthday.
Then I realised the date today is 3/3/2004...hmm...that means it might be
S34's turn tmr. After school I saw S33 celebrating in the
canteen...wow...how I wish my class is as united as them.
Finally next week is the last week of term 1 liao...time passes so quickly...and it's time for the Chinese Culture test liao. Luckily it is all MCQ questions, if not can die one leh! Mdm Siew praised my class today...haiz but too bad we won't be meeting her anymore after next week. Good thing is we will not have anymore culture tutorial and the boring lectures, bad thing is we will have project work and hence seeing that Mrs Ong more often... I think Ms Kwee is quite a good lecturer...at least her voice is not as "lullaby" as Mdm Yeo and not as muffled as Mr Koh. I just like the way she talks lah...so comical. The CT session today is all about student council elections. I didn't pay much attention cos I know I won't become a councilor one...but seeing that the councilors are able to juggle so many things at one time, I really pei fu them. And to Jieying and Kaizhi, wo hui zhi chi ni men de!! Must jia you hor! Add oil, add oil!! (doink!) After school Xiaoxuan, Yiuyan, Youcheng and I went to Coro to eat, and shun bian buy something for tmr. After we eat finish, we played the big fish small fish game, luckily I am not forced to eat the leftovers...Later we went NTUC to buy tidbits and drinks for tmr's celebration. (Xiaoxuan says 34 day should be on 3rd April instead...but never mind lah...celebrate on both days lor) Then I become so ji jiao abt the cost of the chocolates that Xx thinks I sound like her mother. Aiyah...I am just trying to save money mah! Today got band practice but my "section" started one hour late cos J2s weren't around. In fact I didn't even practise lor...just made a lot a lot of noise... |
| 2 March 2004 Tuesday |
| Slack Tutorials |
|
Almost all the tutorials today are so slack, cos the scholars need to go for
a briefing at MOE. Then half the class is empty liao... Maths lecture is a
bit boring today cos got no jokes and tricks, but Mr Yap let us off early...haha...then
after that is 3 periods of slacking session. I finished my trigo tutorial A3
already (yay!) and did the summation tutorial halfway...so I was busy doing
chem instead. Then there was a break where I chatted with Jie ying at the
canteen... You cheng hasn't been coming for days (or weeks) liao...then many ppl say he is 'sick' or something. That's a bit mean but I have to agree lah...first day still gan gan volunteer to be a CT rep...haiz. Maybe he's not going to stay in HC anyway...nvm...up to him lor. We went to the library to do some GP thingy. Dun feel like writing any essay...so I tot of going to gamefaqs but I scared later the school will catch me or something...then accuse me of going to whatever undesirable sites. So no choice lor...I just surf around the IVLE, play with the mouse scroll, etc. The chem lecturer is super hao lian today... show his testimonial as if it's so good liddat. (the testimonial roughly says the same thing for every student lah...so nothing special...except the chemistry part) Very the bu yao lian. Ya...he's so lame too. Miss Wee is in good mood today I think, she came into the class smiling away...then she decided to chit-chat with the class. (it's finally time we slow down) Actually she's quite a nice person lah...just that she tries to act stern act fierce but it ends up so fake...I think it is the other chem teachers that told her must be fierce to the students...Aiyah cannot act stern jiu bu yao mian qiang... Haiz...got so much letters to reply to...busy busy busy....but I think I will take a nap first...tmr will be another slack day...but got CCA...double haiz. |
