30 June Wednesday
Block Test Day 2
There were fewer ppl in sch this morning...cos the J2s were all missing. Didn't bother to study further cos I was rather confident. :) This time our exam venue is in the hall...awwww...however this is first time I'm taking a test/exam in the hall...so I was rather excited...hehe!  Didn't know that the sch got such high-tech stuff: the digital display with scrolling text! Soon, everyone settled down at their rows...and the test began.

I just did and did and did...after I completed the paper, I realised that I still have abt 50 min left. (it was a 3hr paper) So I went back to ponder abt the question that I had skipped earlier. It was a rather tricky question but I managed to solved it...yay! I still had some more time left so I checked through all the questions again by sub-ing in values and stuff... After the test was over, a lot of ppl were cursing and swearing, saying the paper was very tough, etc... Err...but I think it's a rather so-so paper...if not how come I know how to do all the questions? (hehe...dun beat me up...)

Heard there was a major blackout yesterday night which affected more areas than the previous one. (refer to the blackout entry at April) Luckily my area was not affected this time. (if not cannot study liao) I wonder which area kena hit by both blackouts...must be very suay...haha. Aiyoh...how come like so many blackouts recently? (dun forget the Nicoll Highway "Blackout"...hehe)

29 June Tuesday
Block Test Day 1
Wore contacts to sch today...I think my eyes look bigger...hehe. I did some Physics mcq at the class bench. (I think my GP is hopeless so no use studying) Then we went to the respective venues for each class. (luckily my class is not in the hall) First paper was GP compo...chose the mass media topic...hopefully my essay is not out of point. There was a break before GP compre began...difficulty so-so lah...the passage is quite intriguing also (esp to males...hehe)...made me want to read further, unlike the PJC paper...(if anyone remembers that passage...)

There was a 1 hour break before physics...did more mcqs again. It was paper 1 mcq first...so-so lah...at least my efforts paid off cos got 2 qns from the tys. Then paper 2 was hell...skipped a lot a lot of qns... The final question was abt plotting graph, but I only did the tabulating...didn't draw the graph at all, as well as the full page of questions that followed. I wonder if anyone managed to finish the paper... At many times I thought the paper is going to end soon budden when I flipped the pages over there's still soooo much questions left! Haiz...I predict I would just pass the paper...60+/120...borderline marks...

A bit demoralised liao...hope tmr's Maths C paper won't be that hard...

23 June Wednesday
Sian
The holidays are starting to get sian for me liao. (anyway it is going to end soon...) All becos of that stupid block test...if not I'll be still happily playing my ps2 now. Everyday, I would just look forward to night, where I could watch Xi Lin Men and Hai You Ming Tian. I'm terribly bored during the day...where the only thing I could do is to mug and mug until the sun sets. Going online does not help either. Everyone is just in the mugging mood...no mood to chat, play Bridge or whatsoever. (I doubt I would have the mood too....) So I just leave my com on and do other stuff...hoping that when I get back to the com again there'll be ppl trying to chat with me or sth. However most of the time it is ppl asking me qns for the block test...and some are already offline by then.

Suddenly I found out that I still have a lot of things undone. Firstly...PW. Before holidays, my group agreed to meet together online for discussion but up till now, not a single discussion has been held. I can understand this...since everyone wants to enjoy their holidays by doing stuff they like rather than the boring PW. I admit that I myself haven't been doing much PW during this holiday...and I doubt most ppl have done any constructive work too. Secondly...GP. Sometimes I really wonder if I shld put in any effort for GP...the GP holiday assignment puts me off...Mrs Soo's lesson puts me off...my class' enthusiasm abt GP puts me off...everything abt GP never fails to shut down my mind. Haiz...I think I've decided not to study for the GP block test.

I tot during the hols some tutors wanted to give extra lessons or sth? How come like everything cancel already? Surprisingly during these 4 weeks of holidays I have only been to school for abt 4 days only. (all is for band) One of the lowest record for June holidays ever since my primary school days! Haha...that's one thing good abt JC...

Everyone's talking abt Euro 2004 lately...haiz...dunno what they are talking abt also. I dun care anyway...soccer has never been my interest at all. Watching soccer matches also make me feel like sleeping...the ball is being kicked here and there...watch until giddy...

The only person who need not study for block test is that "mystery person" lor...I assume he's still playing his FFX...hope he consults me abt the game...hehe....

21 June Monday
@ Zhe Han's House
Wah...finally Zhe Han is organising something! Guessed he's really so bored during the holidays alone at home. Lucky Zhaoyang and Jin Hin agreed to go...4 ppl...just nice for Bridge. (haiz too bad Yong Feng cannot come) Spent a very long time going there (Upper Thomson) by travelling via Mandai and transferring bus at the Zoo. (so long didn't go there liao...maybe next time can have an outing there?...haha) The bus stops there are so ulu one and full of mosquitoes! Hah...but at least now I know a quicker way to travel from my place to Ang Mo Kio/Bishan area.... During the trip, the bus suddenly halted becos there was a dead monkey in the middle of the road. Then some passengers got down to help to move the carcass to the roadside. -__-...This phenomenon can only be seen at Mandai Rd..........

When I reached the bus stop outside Zhe Han's house, I was already abt 30 min late, but I was the earliest out of the 3 lor! Haha...Zhaoyang waited for Jin Hin at Ang Mo Kio for 45 min only to found out that he had just wakened up from bed... -__-. Soon after, Zhaoyang arrived on his own. Then we proceeded to Zhe Han's house. The place is supposed to be a condo, but not those kind of high class one. It consists of a few blocks of 3-4 storey buildings (more like a chalet instead...) Inside his house is quite nice...with lots of photos of his family (from the photos I can see that his family is that kind wealthy type one....) Noticed that Zhe Han looks cuter when he's younger....  (argh...forgot to use my camera...I brought it anyway...)

The house had a lot of things to eat but not a lot to drink...so I ate ice cubes instead...and also 2 pieces of ice cream and a bottle of vitagen...hehe. The good thing is that no one except ZH is at home (Home Alone...), so we can eat and do whatever we like. Soon Jin Hin arrived. We 'explored' the house for a while before playing 'Bridge'. Then we played played played and played until a bit sian liao...Zhaoyang began to read the newspapers...while Jin Hin gave the 'sian' look. Then we changed game and played Mahjong instead. Everyone except me knows how to play...so they taught me the rules of game and fortunately I was able to understand fast. (only the basics...not the chim chim got-play-money-type one...) Mahjong's quite interesting lah...but I think Bridge better cos no need to 'build castle' or make a lot of noise. We played for a few rounds (I won once only...) before everyone was getting hungry.

Then we went to the nearby food centre to eat Hor Fun and some crispy noodles. After that we went to the famous Roti Prata stall to eat special flavoured roti prata. (like chocolate, cheese...) Quite a creative mix eh? Was very full at that time so I didn't eat those roti pratas... After everyone's had their fill, we headed home. Didn't go to the Night Safari this time...took an alternative route...

Seems like everyone's beginning to mug already...asking me questions and stuff... I had the urge to play Samurai Warriors...but I think it's best to leave it until after block test. Yay...that "mystery" person (refer to 7 June entry) bought a ps2 already! And he's playing FFX currently! Haha...didn't expect him to be sooo enthu in gaming stuff also... (give you a clue lah...almost everyone reading my web knows this person....)

This week is going to be sooo sian...mugging, online, and nothing else. Why must they set the block test after the holidays? So unfair!

17 June Thursday
Onimusha
I heard that Onimusha 3 was pretty good, so on Monday (yeah I know it's already so long ago) I went to buy the game as well as Samurai Warriors. I didn't play the first 2 onimusha series but it doesn't matter. I wanted to try more action-adventure type games instead of the same old RPGs which I've always played. The game contains a bit of violence and gore but as I play along, it doesn't really bother me. FYI one of the main lead is played by Takeshi Kaneshiro (Jin1 Cheng2 Wu3) and another by a (dunnowho) French actor.

Just after I got the game, I began my intensive playing...for the whole afternoon as well as night. (until past midnight) Was really tired but the enjoyable gameplay makes it worth. That's why most of time I was set to "busy" in msn and most ppl can't contact me. Sorry abt that...I've been neglecting my friends lately...hehe. Finally completed the game within 3 days, just like Sonic Heroes. Yup the story is quite nice in addition to the splendid cinematic. For those who have a ps2 I recommend this game...haha.

Went to watch "The Best Bet" (Tu Ran Fa Cai) today. Heard some good comments from certain ppl in the net. The movie was quite funny lah...but I've some difficulty understanding their hokkien cos they speak so fast and the subtitles flashed very quickly also. A lot of Singaporean jokes in the movie too, (like all other Jack Neo's movies) and many important points were brought across the viewers well. After watching this movie, I learnt how to manage my money properly and not to spend it on useless gambling...and even striking lottery brings lots of problems too. For those who understand quite a bit of hokkien you might want to watch the movie and catch the jokes within...haha.

The 3rd week of the holidays is almost over liao...time to study for block test!

12 June Saturday
Thinking
Finally completed Sonic Heroes in just 3 days! Tough job collecting all those chaos emeralds! There is band today and we learnt the 'band dance' in the morning. (Dun even know that there's such a thing as a band dance...and I wonder what's the use for the dance other than the handover ceremony.) Looks complicated but...also very difficult to dance leh! Even harder than the college dances! But much simpler than the S3 fac dance...hehe. I also wonder who choreographed the dance steps...trying to make things difficult eh? Also today, Mr Leng asked the band who plays computer games like Counterstrike, Gunbound...but nobody raised their hands. Then he said that we all got no life one... I think he narrow minded lor...never heard of console games before meh? Maybe he just thinks that the computer is the only source of gaming entertainment. I bet I got more consoles than anyone else lor...haha. (me trying to hao lian again.....) Anyway I doubt out of so many ppl all of them dun play computer games one...must be too shy to admit...haha.

Now I really got no games to play liao...and I dun want to become addicted to bridge again, it's taking far too much of my time. I think it is time I settle down and do my tutorials, study for block test, do PW, and all those boring stuff.... Anyway half of the holidays is gone liao...felt that I didn't spend my time wisely. (I'm waiting for someone to organise a outing.........) But then hor, spending half of the holidays studying is really sooooo uninteresting lor... 1 year got 4 school terms each comprises 10 weeks, that's quite a lot liao...why are we still studying during the time we are given to take a break from school? That's the purpose of holidays wat...allow us to enjoy ourselves mah! Me lazy then will say such things one...

Currently watching Double Happiness (Xi Lin Men)...I think the story, characters and conversations are better than Holland V. The back half of the Holland V is rather long winded (gets a little boring...but I still continue to watch it)...hopefully Double Happiness won't end up like this.... Can't wait for Yaxi to become the boss of Happy Fish.....hehe.....

Received a message yesterday saying that Mr Ho Chong Liang (sec 3 chinese teacher who taught me for Term 1) has passed away yesterday morning. RIP. Haiz....I still remember how his lessons was like....  Heard that his funeral is tmr, I dun think I'll be going since I dun have much impression on him. (since he only taught me for only a term) I would feel very awkward under the solemn atmosphere of a funeral. Moreover I can't really stand seeing ppl cry. (I'm quite emotionally strong) I also dunno where the funeral is going to be held.

8 June Tuesday
Harry Potter
Yup...went to watch Harry Potter with my primary school friend today. I think this show is quite different from the previous 2 cos there isn't much action scenes or any real climax. (where all the fighting happens) It is more like mysterious instead. The first part of the story is funny, with all that hilarious events, then the second part is where the suspense begin while the third part is where mysteries start to unfold. I think overall is quite nice lah, but bit confusing at certain twist. (luckily my friend is there to explain the story) Hmm...I can't really remember much abt the first 2 movies since it is so long ago...a bit hard if you ask me to compare... But I think the cinema shld have raised the volume more cos the movie was a bit too soft to achieve the "surround sound" effect. Also, if the movie is longer then even better...haha.

Just as I expect, I'm not so addicted to bridge anymore after a day without bridge. Maybe it is really time to do more constructive things... perhaps play Sonic Heros on the XBox? haha...

7 June Monday
Dou1 Shi4 Yin1 Wei4 Bridge
Ya lor, ya lor...all becos of bridge lor...I think most ppl shld know why I haven't been updating my web lately. (almost a week liao) Bridge has taken over my life for the past week...every morning wake up, switch on computer, then meddle with some bridge stuff. Also there is nothing much happening these few days also...was at home most of the time. I could have made use of this time better lor...  Anyway I did pick up some rules of bridge lately, esp the bidding part. Unfortunately I dun quite know how to apply during competitive bidding...need more 'hands-on'. Unfortunately again, there's no one I can practise with...yahoo ppl don't quite know the bidding rules...then bbo ppl too expert for me to handle...as for my friends, some dunno the rules at all, while others are too good to bother abt a beginner like me. Haiz...seems like what I study abt the rules is going to get wasted....

I want to blame Xiaoxuan lor...for making me sooo hooked to bridge...But I want to thank her also...muhahahahaha...for introducing me to such a wonderful and intellective game...hehe. This is the first card game that I've ever been addicted to...actually last time got one...like Donkey, Old Maid, Happy Family, UNO... (if anyone can remember all these card games...) But I still got sooooo much to improve lor esp bidding and memorising the number of side suits that are already played. Maybe next time I shall borrow one book abt bridge to mug...instead of looking at the computer screen all day...

Tmr I'm going to watch Harry Potter...hopefully after this movie I can finally settle down and start on my PW and tutorials...as well as preparation for block test. Also I just want to mention...chatting with the *dun tell you who* (refer to 30 May entry) is really very fun. Dunno where he got soo much time to chat one....

Anyway if you have trouble reading the text...I got the idea of this colour scheme from bbo (bridge base online). Everything is soooo colourful (but a bit kiddy...) in bbo...

1 June Tuesday
Band CIP Camp Day 2
Today was slightly better than yesterday since I was not as bored. Came early in the morning but did my homework instead. Then I started helping out in the preparation of the "War game" (same as orientation except no flour) by filling water bombs and moving benches from hc canteen to the tchs side field, where the game would be held. Was very tired after moving such heavy stuff across a long distance under the hot sun. Then I played cards for a while before lunch. After lunch was sectionals where Elise and I were supposed to conduct as Jeff had something on. Elise conducted for the first half...fortunately they were quite well behaved but a bit too quiet. Then I conducted another piece for the second half...dunno if it was my humour or what...the students kept laughing away. (esp the girls) But I was quite glad that I was able to amuse them after a tiring morning...hehe. Unfortunately the sectionals ended earlier than expected...anyway my job is done.

After that was 'War game'. The students didn't play as wild as what we (the hc ppl) did during orientation. But it was quite fun being at the boundaries seeing the commotion going on at the 3 territories! At first it was just random throwing...then one team's structure started to be attacked by two other teams. That just went on for a few minutes after which everyone felt tired and began to sit on the benches to rest. Some ppl wanted to take bombs from me but I refused and burst them instead...haha. Also, some ppl (esp hc band members) started to play a fool and smash the bombs onto their friends instead. (or run around chasing their friends with a pail of water or a bomb) Then Jeff finally came, but the game was over liao. I was rather dry until Xiaoxuan poured a pail of water over my head...grrr... Too bad I got nothing much to get back at her...grrr x 2.

Played Bridge before going home...found out that I just can't seem to win whenever Xiaoxuan is around. (except when she's my partner) On my way to the gate, one of the sec sch students bade farewell to me but the bad thing was I couldn't recognise her! Actually she is from the clarinet section and she wanted to know my name so that she could acknowledge me. I gave Elise's name instead...cos I didn't do really much actually...hehe.
