War of Shadows

War of Shadows is the name I give to the longest running campaign I have ever been part of.  All counted, a little under four years of actual active time.  About once every week or two during most of that, but things really speeded up during the summer.  Sometimes (in the summer of '99) we'd play as many as three or four days in a row, up to six hours.  After that, yours truly was quite drained, but such is the way of things.

Provided below is a short account of the War of Shadows, including the major characters, the magicks, and the setting.  The short account is still rather long, even though it's still missing the latter parts of the campaign.

Opening Volley - When they begin actively working against Oroth's plans

Box of Shadows - How the party managed to loose the same artifact three times through their own flub-ups.

The Lake of Dreams - Solo adventures delving into the nature of magic and the world  (warning: strange and disjoint)
The Second City - A mythic quest, slaying a boatful of unprepared PCs and rewarding those who were worthy

Acquisition of Means - relic hunting and friend making
Battles Against Oroth - twin battles against the dark god
Civil war in the Elven Wood - destruction reigns as Malix becomes increasingly desperate

The Age of Prophecy
A Welcome Rest - The party hangs back out of affairs, tending to their own personal intrests long enough to regain sanity.
Building and Rebuilding - A new order is forged where the old one fell.

        Cameo #1 - The Shadowknife
        Cameo #2 - Cydwin's Droogs

Special Thanks to the Dread Pirate Mike (for T'lann, One-Eye, and Stormbringer) and David Eddings for writing really cool books.
