First Meeting
Nask, Stephan, and Gerald were sent to the Plinth (a landmark near the Great Forest), to discuss the growing hordes of orcs and ogres just beyond the Windknife Mountains.  The Dwarven Bezerker was being sent as Gerald's bodyguard, his tribe living in the mountain the Illuminati are on top of.  The party exchanges messages from their respective orginizations and decides to head back to Tamorin to see what the Midlands would like them to do.
So while they are finishing their conversation, Lighning Bolts start raining from the sky.  The party runs for cover, but the lightning follows them.  They run and run, eventually outlasting the lightning.  Nask takes point and they start proceeding cautiously.  After a few steps they hear cries of distress.  They search and search and can't find anyone.  Eventually Gerald finds that a little weed appears to be the source of the noise and a gem lies under that weed.  So before anyone else can pick it up, Nask snatches it.  And it sticks to his hand.  The other party members laugh and laugh, but their's no way to get the gem off.  So they start calling for help (obviously hoping that some powerful wizard frequents this neck of the woods).  Luckily their right.  Aaron's character, the Magi (as I do not remember his name) wanders into the clearing and demands some exhorbanant price to cast remove curse.  He decides to join up with them (in the sake of party unity I guess).
They just start making progress again when a mage dressed finely in purple robes appears in the clearing and starts hailing them with lightning bolts.  They take offense and move to wring his scrawny neck.  As soon as his stone skin starts to wear down, he teleports away.  The now furious characters proceed to destroy a decent sized chunk of forest (making sure he didn't turn invisible).
Finally their first foe vanquished(?), they start walking to Tamorin.

Wanderings about the mountains
Stephan's leige lord Kor III tells them that they should investigate the forces actually beginning to enter the Windknife Mountains.  They happily agree (this was about as plot intensive as the campaign got at that point), get some horses, and ride back (right past where they were last adventure).
So, they proceed to destroy some orc and ogre grunts (in my campaign they can become classed and quite high level, if they want to).  Nask discovers some human foot prints.  Strange, they think.  And they are heavily armored.  Very strange.  So they decide to follow the tracks.
They reach a small stone building, set into the mountain.  It has a carving of a snake eating its own tail on the doors and murals of debauched acts covering the inner walls.  And it was looted recently, setting off a whole load of traps.  The players then leave scrathing their heads (In the past I have thrown things like that at them just to confuse them, but this time it did have a purpose).
As they leave, in the next mountain pass, they are hit with even more purpose.  A cambion (daemon-human hybrid) leading about a hundred ogres.  The party makes a judicious use of its horses, except for the dwarven bezerker who charges the cambion and has his leg lopped off by its two handed sword (critical hit).  He then moped off into the mountains, never to be seen again.
The PCs return to Tamorin to report their findings.

City of Darkness
When the PCs learn that the cambion they fled from last adventure is leading a small party to the city of darkness, they just can't pass up the opportunity.  In Tamorin, they are joined by two new PCs, a knight of the star and a shadow mage-thief, Cydwin.  No ones quite sure why Cydwin is coming along, but are glad he did when he uses a scroll (of ethrealness) to sneak up on their camp right after they left the City.
Stephan uses his holy avengers power to negate evil magic (Paladin's Handbook) and engages the Cambion in hand to hand.  Thats pretty even.  The rest of the fight is more lopsided.  A goblin poisoneer (poisoned daggers) is doing serious damage, although his comrades (being a shaman and a mage) are effectively crippled.  Suddenly, in rather quick succession, the shaman is run through, the Knight of the Star is felled, the goblin poisoneer manages to prick himself, and the Cambion takes down Stephan.  Suddenly everyone is free to use their magic.
Cydwin hurls a vitriolic sphere at Volarin (the half-elven mage) at the same moment he teleports away.  Poor Volarin fails his save, but does not die.  The cambion uses his own magic to escape, with the prize they had sought, the Crown of Darkness.  The party didn't realize it at the time, but the Crown was one of the items required to free Oroth from his prison.

Malix and the Necropolis
An elven magi living in the Midlands offers them a large sum of money to retrieve an item for him from the depths of an ancient, cursed city.  He explains that it is would create a sheild over the Ostolvi, capital city of the elves.  They agree, but decide to visit the Temple of Ompos before they leave.
There, they are introduced to Ompos's premiere undead hunter, BloodDeath.  They walk into his room to find him hanging from the ceiling on meathooks, rather alive and quite cheerful.  After he lets himself down, he agrees to come along with them.  They soon realize that he plans to wear a only a loin cloth the entire way and that his sole weapon is a ruby-studded thigh bone (appearently from a humanoid).  The party increasingly despairs on their chances of living through this ordeal.
When they pass four inocuious travellers just after nightfall the next day and BloodDeath simply says "Two vampires, a necromancer, and a ghost.  Do you just want to kill them now?" The party are convinced their travelling with a mad man.  When they are attacked later that night by two vampires, a necromancer, and a ghost, they start to listen.  After a very difficult battle and a running battle with the shades of the city, the party finds the item (a 3' tall obelisk) and carry it off.
They return to Tamorin and deliver the relic, receiving their pay.  A week later they find that Ostolvi has been struck by a blast of mystical force, levelling large sections of the city.  This is promptly pinned on the characters.
