NPCs

These are the accounts of the people the party met earlier in the campaign.  I'm just writing them down as they come up, for the most part.  As the list grows longer, very strange things will accumulate at the bottom.  Be forwarned.

Full Write Ups:
Vile -   The second most powerful mage that ever lived.  The party awakened Vile from his slumber.  He later took several PCs as apprentices such as: Gerald, Wehn, and Xyphael.

Really Important People:
King Kor III - One of the very first people the party met, Kor is Stephan's Leige and the Sovereign ruler of Milandar, at least during the early campaign.  Kor himself is a powerful paladin, Grandgeneral of the Knights of the Star.  No one questions his authority or wisdom.  Some question why he has not taken a wife after Marlina died all those years ago.  Kor has promised the kingdom that he will adopt a son when the time is right.

Malix - Through the campaign Malix is the NPC that got talked about the most.  In the beginning he was working as the elven embassy in Tamorin.  He even gave the party a rather wellpaying job.  When the situation between the Empire and Milandar began to deteriorate, Malix was at the forefront advocating war.  Eventually, the new king chose him as Councilate of War, second only to himself in these pressing times.

BloodDeath - A rather unorthodox priest of Ompos, BloodDeath doesn't seem to follow any of the rules.  He wears a loin cloth and brandishes a (human?) femur studded with rubies.  However, his connection to the god is indisputable and his quest against the undead is bordering on insane all by itself.  Whenever the party went to see him (this happened a lot through the campaign) he would be hanging from the ceiling on hooks, lying on hot coals, or mutilating himself in other ways.  That is, except the one time he was just calmly sitting in the corner.  BloodDeath is the single most powerful priest of Ompos, but has no real standing with the clergy.  They just let him have his little room in the temple and move on with their lives.

Chronos - The first Field Commander the party gets the pleasure of meeting, Chronos is bad news.  He has seemingly (emphasis on seemingly) infinite control over the flow of time.  He can double it up (putting the PCs in a loop), create extreme haste and slow effects, and even summon in duplicates of himself (when things get really dire.  Chronos always seemed distant, but interfered with the PCs enough to make them very very angry.

Dark Prohpet - A member of the First Race, shattered into five fragments each seeking a different goal.  However, each has its own reason for opposing the party.  Early on, he ambushed them, and later they were in direct conflict every step of the way.  Was once Oroth's high general, still holds this position through rights of seniority, but no longer can claim the power of a true member of the First Race.

Dracos - The second Field Commander the party met, Dracos was actually a decent enough guy to his friends.  However, he was quite ruthless when it came to his enemies.  His most memorable trait was a strange sense of honor which led him to respect and parley with equals.  Also very good at chess.

The Guardian - A single-minded member of the First Race, he stands watch over a portal at the center of the Lake of Dreams.  He's decided that it would be an umitigated disaster for anyone to go through it and has devoted his (immortal) life to preventing this from happening.  His completly alien frame of reference often amazed the party.  He and BloodDeath were the gurus the party went to when they needed spiritual guidance.

Xalanos - The being responsible for Basalisks, Medusae, and Gorgons along with countless diseases and more nameless abominations than anyone cares to count.  Even before the wars began, Xalanos was the mad scientist of the First Race, never content with what was there, always looking for a way to improve it.  When someone created pumas, he created Displacer Beasts.  When someone created swords, he created Rust Monsters.  Always three steps ahead, but repugnant to his fellow Elders, never assisted either side during the wars.  He simply hid in his tower, on his continent, and created blasphemous creatures.  Long ago trapped in the Second City by powerful magicks, the party only recently released him.

Exaltier - Once a general in the elven army, Exaltier has turned against the Councilate of War (Malix) after discovering that he was responsible for the daemons beginning to spread through the Fey Wood.  Exaltier is known for his amazing record in battle and his absolute loyalty to the elven people.  He is also considered one of the finest swordsmen in the region (only Kor III being his match).  A throwback to ancient times, Exaltier has talents for planning on a massive scale and realizing when one needs to be sacrificed to save the many.

Huroon - Exaltier's magus and second in command, Huroon is arguably the greatest mind in the empire.  His understanding of magic depends on the geometry and lines of force, making it totally alien to most magi.  However, this viewpoint seems to give him great insight into the internal workings of magic, both his and the ancient elves'.  Like Exaltier, Huroon wouldn't hesitate to sacrifice himself for the cause.  In a war against the darkness, Huroon borders on a zealot, wishing to burn out Malix's plague.

Zeveron Garonok the Black - A diviner of archmage level, watching and waiting.  He resides in a simple tower, covered with magicks to turn away the foolish or offensive.  He sells his secrets to any one willing to pay the (exorbanent) price, but no one knows what he plans to do with his money.  The party alone has given him enough gold to make a dragon blush.

Sort of Important People:
Mithril - Mithril mostly worked behind the scenes for Field Commander Dracos.  The party for some reason took a strange liking to her, probably because she realized that there was nothing to be gained by fighting them and just left.  She was the first minion of Oroth they really got to talk too, and was a good part of the reason for the corruption of both party members that went over willingly.

One-Eye - A thorn in the parties side, even though they only physically met him once.  Every one present when they met him came away with an absolute loathing for his person.  He soundly thrashed the party and did it with a boatload of smug little quips.

Baron Tikar - One of the few honestly nice people the party got to meet, Baron Tikar is basically a nice old man.  However, he became somewhat embittered after One-Eye ransacked his village twice.  Used occasionally by the PCs as a source for down to earth advice.

Pearl - A syren and Cydwin's companion at the Lake of Dreams.  Obviously knew more than she let on.  Honestly kind and gentle person, hated fighting except in selfdefense.

Minor People:
Xovor, Mage of the Crescent-Cross - For the entire campaign, referred to by the enigmatic sigil stitched into his robes.  For some reason, Xovor constantly gave the party fits early in the campaign.  He slapped them around the first adventure, taunted Nask a lot, and resold the Box of Shadows to Stephan.  For this reason he always acted somewhat condecendingly towards the party, even though they could theoretically squash him like a bug.

Ka'thak'orin, The Cambion - Another early rival, the cambion worked very closely with the orcish clans.  He was easily a match for the parties best fighters (possessing both great skill in the sword and a heap of hit points).  Ka'thak'orin never developed a strong dislike for the party, he just saw them as another obsticle to cross when they got in the way.

Volarin, aka Meltaway - Ka'thak'orins right hand elf, Volarin was remembered primarily for being put into dire straights by Cydwin's Vitrolic Sphere.  Volarin wanted to retaliate, but knew better to do anything but fume.
