In Numbers 12 we recall the story of how Aaron and Miriam were acting in a racist manner because their brother Moses had married a Cushite woman.  God called for Moses to bring Aaron and Miriam with him to the steps to the temple.  When the three of them arrived, God appeared in a cloud blocking the entrance to the main portion of the temple.  God then called Aaron and Miriam forward and they disappeared into the cloud.  After their conversation was over and the cloud lifted, Aaron looked at Miriam and realized that God had cursed her with leprosy.  Aaron then begged Moses to forgive the both of them for their rash statements against Moses and his wife.  Moses forgave the both of them and asked God to deliver Miriam from leprosy.  God responded by telling Moses to cast Miriam out of the fellowship for seven days as a sign of disgrace and then after the seven days she could return to the assembly.

It is obvious here that God deals harshly with any kind of racist actions or attitudes.  What is also obvious is that those actions cause harm to others and all can feel the pain.  This is similar to what Paul wrote to the Corinthians in 1 Cor. 12:12-26.  He uses visual imagery to relate individuals within the body of the church to individual parts of the body.  He states that we all need each other, and even more, he states, If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.  It should be clear that by Aarons and Miriams statements they made against Moses, who was faithfully serving God in such a capacity that Moses actually saw God at times, that Moses was hurt.  If Moses is hurt by comments made by his brother and sister then how much more should his brother and sister hurt.  In fact, spiritually speaking, since Aaron and Miriam were speaking out against Moses in anger because he had married a Cushite woman then they were guilty of murder also.
