Plays I've Written Every Friday night, I would go to this improv group called Chelsea 11:17 at Carleton College, where we performed student-written plays, scripts, poems, parodies, etc. It was a load of fun. Here are a few plays and monologues I wrote for Chelsea while at Carleton. The Adventures of Mighty Mammaries and Super Dick - when asked if my breasts were my super-power, I came up with this. Ginsu is Too Sexy - a parody that I wrote for my friend Ginsu to sing about himself. It's kind of an in-joke, but perhaps it might inspire you to write your own "sexy" parodies. Insert Something Creative Here - based on the true story of a friend who got drunk and started soliciting everyone in his dorm - strong language Kirsten and Josh - This play I wrote as a parody of my life and relationship with my ex-boyfriend and his visit to me at Carleton. My Application Essay for Carleton College - When applying for Carleton, I was asked what the most difficult time in my life was. This play is basically the essay, dramatically enhanced. Oh, Fer Nostalgia - A True Story - a short play about meeting Joe McIntyre from New Kids on the Block Sex, Lies, and Scamming With Beavis and Butt-Head - what if the two characters were the facilitators of this show about date rape? The Subtext Menagerie - With respect to Mr. Williams. Why I Act - a monologue The Wonderful World of Denise Daniels and Kirsten Jorgenson on Sugar Highs - it's exactly what you may think; written when I was just fresh into college. I also write plays just for my own amusement and for contests. Below are a few and their descriptions. Some of these are not up. If you would like a copy, please write to me and ask for one or a few and we'll come up with a price. Remember, all of these plays ARE copyrighted. Do not claim them as yours. Thank you. About an Object - class assignment that had to be about, you guessed it, an object. Candles - a long murder mystery. Gender Skepticism with Susan Bordo - a Women's Studies class assignment, to compare two Feminist theorists. In Edge-Wise - a class paper, the assignment was to write a play about a person. Moving In - a class assignment, whose topic was "About a space." Simplicity - Through it All re-vamped and told from a 19-year-old's perspective. It's not as juvenile and I've learned a bit more about speech patterns. Tales of the Inside - For a competition, I had to write a one-minute plat on excess (added June 26, 2005). Through it All - a play I wrote when I was seventeen about a nightmare I had. It's about teenage pregnancy among other things. Tsunami - a short play about a working mother Waiting for Mandy - a play in which all of the characters exhibit a certain defense mechanism. Where I Belong - a play inspired by Sarah McLachlan's song "Good Enough." I had always wondered what the story was, so I decided to make one up that fit the lyrics.
