I know it seems like i've been writing a lot of new stuff (for me, at least) lately, but it's actually just the fact that i finally rifled through my notebooks & translated some of the chicken scratch that i had accumulated. A couple additions for the Thoughts page, a guest rant from Joanne Sorority Chick and my take on Dogs & Sweaters.

Now i'm rolling.
You wanna know why i don't like christmas? You really want to know? Well, i've broken it down into four very easy to understand steps, here.

I have just added two new editions to my Lyric(s)-Of-The-Moment page (the first new shit in over six months over there). This, of course, is not normally front page news. But these two are dedicated to my good friend Jeremiah Kanary, whom we lost recently. I know anyone who knew him, or was a TERRY's KID fan, will appreciate.
And also, my first, and possibly last, movie critique. It took a movie this bad.

BRAND NEW!
I added a new edition of Ponders that includes a line i stole from my good friend Shan-o. His only required compensation was that i take a picture of myself in my new robe & slippers (he's in Japan now, so he's never seen them) (and no, this isn't a gay thing) (yet).
{Note from the FUTURE - these pictures have been lost. Sad!}

Overheard last night:
Polio (looking at dog): I wonder what the dog thinks about when she sits there chewing on that toy.
Doug: She's probably thinking about what she can chew up when we're gone.
Polio: Yeah, she's probably already chewed up Cory's record collection. She probably takes them out of the sleeves while we're gone & chews them up, then puts them back.
Doug: She probably does.
Cory: Yeah, she probably chews up the ones she doesn't like. While we're gone, she's in here putting records on the turntable & chewing up what she doesn't like. We'll probably come home one day & catch her. We'll walk in the door & she'll be like, "Oh shit." She'll look at the cat & be like, "I can never do this again, can I?" And the cat'll be like, "Nope."

Well, apparently Comcast didn't go under or get taken over... or whatever was going to happen. Yeah. But still, i live in fear. Every day i'm on the edge... might go over at any time. I cry. I spit. It does nothing. "What can i do," i yell from the mountain top. Then i realize i'm sitting in my backyard, late at night, holding a broom & chanting to myself to keep warm. Slowly i rise & quickly go back into the house.
Yeah, i don't know either.

I've just read the news today that George Harrison has passed. Not really a surprise, but shitty news none the less.
There'll come a time when all of us must leave here
And nothing sister Mary can do
Will keep me here with you
Nothing in this life that I've been trying
Can equal or surpass the art of dying
- George Harrison
I've also just been given the news that, apparently, our cable modem is going to be getting shut off due to something that happened to Comcast. If this is true, then shit. If not, then ignore this message.

If i took as long as my dog does to get into the right position to take a dump, i wouldn't be writing this right now, cos i'd still be on the toilet.

I like to go outside in the middle of the night & just take a leak in the front yard. Now, i'm usually taking my dog out, as well - so it's not like i'm just going out there for myself. But there really isn't anything quite like just whipping it out & pissing in the dark.

I am totally naked right now.
With another man.

WE'RE #991!
Earlier this year, The Cory Bogner Experience was in the running for 'The People's Choice Award' in the 2001 Online Music Awards. Although we didn't come out on top, we made a respectable showing at #991.

Last Thursday i went with Erin & Doug to see John Mayer at Clutch Cargos in Pontiac, MI. It was a pretty good show. The only complaint i had is that they took too much unnecessary time in between songs which kinda ruined the groove. But overall, it was a good rock and roll show. For those of you who have never heard Mayer's stuff, he has an excellent voice - and plays a damn good guitar as well. I was surprised by this - i was thinking that he would just play rhythm, but it was quite the opposite. The other guitarist actually didn't really do dick. I think there was only one song where he played more than two different notes. The rest of the backing band was adequate, at best, but it didn't really matter, they didn't do much either. Although, he does have a pretty interesting band {Moby on rhythm guitar, Tony Hawk on drums & Jeff Gordon/Chris Kattan on bass}.
It was actually kinda strange being at this place, though. I think about 60% of the audience was 15 or under. I felt like an old man. "Hey, look at the fat, bald guy!" And there is also the fact that Clutch Cargos is an old church that has been converted into a bar/nightclub/venue. I love this. I just enjoy the fact that this once sacred place is now a meeting place for people who just want to get drunk or get high or get laid all the while listening to "The Devil's Music."

Trying to get back in the swing here. Added a new edition of Ponders. Ate a bug.

On Friday, November 2nd, i lost one of my best friends, Jeremiah Kanary. Jeremiah was one of the most intelligent, talented, creative and humorous people i have ever known. Looking back now, regretfully, i believe i took Jere for granted while he was here. Many of us did. But we all now know what we have lost. Jeremiah was a great man, a great friend, and he will be sorely missed.
