the baptism of a first-born, Jorge da Cunha Pereira Filho, in the
young city of Belo Horizonte, MG, on the 25st/Dec/1937. The importance

My
Grandparents Family Tree: |
We adopted a numeration
of the ascendants by the "Ahnentafel" method, by which, in the
imediately superior generation, the number of a member of the masculine
line is twofold the number of the member of the anterior generation of
which it is the father, i. e., one get it by multiplying by 2, that is,
2 x (number of the son [daughter] member of the anterior generation);
and the number of the member of the feminine line corresponds to the double
of the number of the member of the anterior generation of which it is
the mother plus one, i. e., one get it by multiplying by 2 and adding
1, that is, 2 x (number of the son [daughter] member of the anterior generation)
+ 1. Exemple: If a grandfather of the "probando" has the number
6, his [her] father, therefore a greatgrandfather of the "probando"
(in the masculine line), has the number (2 x 6) = 12, while his [her],
so a greatgrandmother of the "probando" (in the feminine line),
has the number [(2 x 6) + 1] = 13. Inversely, to find the number of a
sun [daughter], it is enough to divide the number of the father by two,
or subtract one from the number of the mother and divide the result by
two. Exemple: If it is known a greatgrandfather of the "probando"
with the number 12, the grandfather (or grandmother) of the "probando"
which is son [daughter] of that has the number (12 : 2) = 6; or if a greatgrandmother
of the "probando" has the number 13, the grandfather (or grandmother)
of the "probando" which is son [daughter] of that has the number
[(13 - 1) : 2] = 6.

|
In the
grandparents family tree above presented there exists an anomaly, due to
the fact that the greatgreatgrandmother 19, Joaquina Cândida da Conceição
(Pereira Guedes), was registered as legitime daughter of different parents
than the biological ones, i. e., she has double identity, for being biological
daughter of one couple and legitime daughter of another couple. This anomaly
conducts to modifications in the grandparents family tree, in the sense
of also including the legitime ascendents -
but not biological ones - that means, the greatgreatgreatgrandparents 38
and 39, the greatgreatgreatgreatgrandparents 76, 77, 78 e 79, and the greatgreatgreatgreatgreatgrandparents
152, 153, 154, 155, 156, 157, 158, and 159, of wich we know the last four,
and so on, of wich we know one greatgreatgreatgreatgreatgreatgrandparent,
316, as is shown below. |

|
As conclusion, one
might affirm that the "probando" has two grandparents family
trees, one a biological one and another a legitime one, by virtue of the
anomaly provoked by the duality of the person of Joaquina Cândida
da Conceição (Pereira Guedes), and, in consequence, of her
ascendants.
