military service: He received the Patent Letter [Carta Patente] of Capitain of the Company of Ordenança on Foot [Capitão da Companhia de Ordenança de Pé], of the Chapel of Our Lady of Porto [Capela de Nossa Senhora do Porto], district [distrito] of Guanhães, of the territory of the Prince Town [Vila do Príncipe], MG, Brazil, passed by the Governor of the Captaincy of Minas Gerais [Governador da Capitania de Minas Gerais], Luis da Cunha Menezes, dated of the Rich Town of Our Lady of the Black Gold [Vila Rica de Nossa Senhora do Ouro Preto], MG, Brazil, on 20th/Jul/1787, having solicited its confirmation on 18th/Nov/1788, that was confirmed by the Queen Lady Mary I [Rainha Dona Maria I], of Portugal, by her Ultramarine Council [Conselho Ultramarino], by Patent Letter of confirmation [Carta Patente de confirmação] in the same rank, dated of Lisbon, Portugal, on 12th/Jan/1789.

slaves: In the years of 1764 e 1767, we find the baptisms of two (2) of his slaves, in the Green Corn Village [Arraial de Milho Verde], MG, Brazil: Roza Mina, Adult, on 5th/Feb/1764, and of Antônio, Adult, on 18th/Jan/1767. Later we find the death of Francisco Angola, in the Prince Town [Vila do Príncipe], MG, on 10th/Apr/1768, that was sepulchred in the Churchyard [Adro] of the Mother Church [Matriz].

diverse: His testament executor was his son-in-law, Antônio Ferreira Carneiro (senior). He came to Brazil about 1746, when he was 17 years old. The british John Mawe, first alien authorized to penatrate in the Captaincy of Minas Gerais [Capitania de Minas Gerais], Brazil, in 1808, in his Voyage to the Interior of Brazil [Viagem ao Interior do Brasil], tells that he was a guest in the house of the Captain José Pereira Bomjardim, in Itapanhoacanga, MG, Brazil, and interviewed him. In the ceiling of the Chapel of Saint Joseph [Capela de São José] of Itapanhoacanga, MG, Brazil, there is a painted book where is written: "In the year of 1787, painted this pictue Manoel Antônio Fonseca, by order of the Captain José Pereira Bomjardim, who by his devotion gave the paints" ["No ano de 1787, pintou esta pintura Manoel Antônio da Fonseca, por mandado do Capitão José Pereira Bonjardim, que por sua devoção deu as tintas"]. The legend also says that he helped to build the Chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary of the Black [Capela de N. Sra. do Rosário dos Pretos], of Itapanhoacanga, MG, Brazil. The Captain Bomjardim was considered wealthy and powerful, altough he denied it, in his testament.

residence: He resided in the Green Corn Village [Arraial de Milho Verde], MG, Brazil, later in the Prince Town [Vila do Príncipe], MG, Brazil, and, finally, in the Itapanhoacanga Village [Arraial de Itapanhoacanga], MG, Brazil. In the actual city of Serro, MG, Brazil, that is the ancient Prince Town [Vila do Príncipe], MG, Brazil, there still exists a place called "Bomjardim", near to the Padilha Pasture [Pasto do Padilha], where he could had resided.

children: From the 1st marriage, with Vitória Francisca Barboza (4 or +): Liberato (José?) Pereira Bomjardim, Gertrudes Pereira Bomjardim, José Pereira Bomjardim Júnior, and Joaquim José Pereira Bomjardim. From the 2nd marriage, with Maria Affonço de Siqueira (1 or +): Josefa Pereira de Jesus (Bomjardim). He grew up an exposed, by name of Pulquéria (Pereira Bomjardim?), baptized in Gren Corn [Milho Verde], MG, Brazil, on 10th/Jan/1767.
