He was the first Mayor of Jaboticatubas, MG, when this locality was elevated to city [see: AFONSO, Leônidas Marques, HISTÓRIA DE JABOTICATUBAS, publication of the auhor, Jaboticatubas, 25th/Mar/1957, 70 pages, at pages 49-50]. religion/brotherhoods: He was roman apostolic catholic. diverse: In the Census of the Chapel of Higher Taquaraçu [Censo da Capela de Taquaraçu de Cima], dated of 23rd/Mar/1832, it is registerd as "João Bap.ta dos S.tos, [quality=] Bº [=white], [age=] 22 [years], [civil status=] S. In AFONSO, Leônidas Marques, HISTÓRIA DE JABOTICATUBAS, publication of the auhor, Jaboticatubas, 25th/Mar/1957, 70 pages, at pages 62-63, one find a profile of him: "IV - JOÃO BATISTA DOS SANTOS VIANA // Nasceu na fazenda do Cipó, provavelmente no dia 24 de junho de 1813. // Faleceu, nesta localidade, aos 5 de julho de 1883," residence: Jaboticatubas, MG, Brazil. children: He would have had a total of 13 children, number this, however, that hasn´t been confirmed through documents. He would have had five (5) or more of the 1st matrimony, with Rita Carneiro, of which we know for certain two (2): José Augusto dos Santos Vianna (Juca of Cipó), and Cândido José dos Santos Vianna (Priest Candinho). The names of three (3) more are: Maria Rita dos Santos Vianna, Antônio Batista dos Santos Vianna, and João Batista dos Santos Vianna Júnior [see: VIANNA, Newton dos Santos, "Viannada", B. H., Oct/2000.]. He would have had nine (9) or more of the 2nd matrimony, with his cousin Felicidade Augusta Alves dos Santos, of which we know seven (7): Francisco dos Santos Vianna, Paulo Alves dos Santos Vianna, Rita Augusta Alves dos Santos (Ritinha), Carlos Augusto dos Santos Vianna, Francisca Augusta dos Santos Vianna (Senhorinha), Guilherme Baptista dos Santos Vianna, and Manoel Alves dos Santos Vianna. Following Elisa Vianna Cruz, there would still be more two (2) children: João Batista Alves dos Santos Vianna, and Guiomar Alves dos Santos Vianna. One should note that the first of the names, João Baptista, looks same as the one of the son of the first matrimony, suggesting that also the daughter Guiomar would be so. That is why they were included amongst the children of his first matrimony. |
