The Community Recycling Network subscription is due: �35. A vote on whether to
renew was tied, so more info about the usefulness of the CRN�s contribution to HFoE�s
knowledge bank will be considered at the next meeting.

Bill updated the meeting about the very important upcoming Marine Bill.
This would make sustainable management mandatory for UK seas. Bill would write an article
for the newsletter.

The consultation period with DeFRA ends on 20 October,
so the group were urged to send in letters/emails stating their objections ASAP.
National Conference
Bill asked for guidance on the Sellafield clean-up motion: the
motion was that the clean-up should NOT be privatised. Hull FoE agreed to vote FOR this
motion.

Training session
(On climate change)
Jess Nolan and Sally Snowball from the Regional FoE HQ in Leeds then led the group
through a very informative training session on how to best lobby our MPs. The group were
given handouts with useful tips on strategy, and an excellent briefing paper on Climate
Change, to give to the MP.
