Solar panels
Jonathan Frankel gave a short presentation on the work of his company: Solartek-uk. The cost is approximately 6,500 fully installed including feed back into the mains. The system does not work with condensing/combi boilers. The panels are claimed to have a life of 25 years at 90% efficiency. Solartek-uk would be happy to attend the Green Fair to promote their product.

Meeting place
Haris reported that she had negotiated the use of the function room at Pier Luigis on Princes Avenue, for 10 including coffee. The group agreed this was a good venue. It would be made clear in our publicity that access involved a short flight of stairs. The group agreed to start meetings at the earlier time of 7.30 pm. Notices to this effect would be produced to display at the Green Fair.

Green Fair
Ian reported that 23 organisations had paid for a stall to date. 26 are needed. Ian is to find out at what time we can get in to set the Fair up. Arrangements were made to distribute posters, to set the Green Fair up, help at the stalls and in the kitchen. The Green Fair group will meet on 16 November at Hilarys at 8pm to finalise arrangements. All welcome!
Ian

Climate
Guy reported excellent attendances at Hull Screen for An Inconvenient Truth. He had been asked to organise a similar event for the film Who Killed the Electric Car? to be screened on 6 & 7 December. There would be stalls, speakers, an art exhibition, and Arthur would present some of his special food. On 14 December there is to be a Xmas Secret Activist Ball at Staff House (Hull University). Tickets are 12.50 including vegetarian meal. There will be an exhibition of years activities by the various local activist groups, and Guy would like a presentation from Hull FoE.

Lobbying MPs
Haris reported that Diana Johnson had sent Hull FoE a copy of her (Dianas) letter to David Miliband.

5-year plan
We are in year 3 of FoEs 5-year Plan, and are to be asked in January 2007 for our views on the direction(s) national FoE should be taking. Discuss ideas at Dec meeting.

Farmer's market
It was decided to investigate more fully whether it would be worth having a stall at the market in Woodmansey. Chrys went regularly and said it was rather a small market specialising in meat, pies, cakes etc. No organics. There was usually at least 1 vegetable stall, sometimes a craft stall.

Zero Waste Charter
It was decided that the group should sign up.
Hilary

CARGO
Chrys suggested presenting a small gift as well as thank-you card to the 4 shops selling tags. It was agreed to discuss this idea at the December meeting.

A.O.B.
David reported that there would be a tree planting session at Barmston Drain on _Sunday 3rd December 10am-12
