Carole and Steve Noreiko, Shan Rigby, Guy Moore, Chris Upton, Colleen Dooner

Finance
The Green Fair made a profit of 418 Green Fair Feedback
It was agreed that the new venue was a success: the music was very attractive; the caf provided nice food and drink. However, visitors were down on previous years. It was agreed that we should have more pre-Fair publicity, with members taking responsibility for distributing posters in named areas and taking space in the HDM (in editorial pieces rather than adverts). Thanks to Ian, Debbie, David and Hilary who formed the organising group.

Tree Planting
David reported a good turnout of 16 people for this event on 3 December, with picture and full-page article in the (HDM? Advertiser?)
The next event at the Barmston Drain site will be wild flower planting, on 29 April 2007, from 10-12

Incinerator Campaign
Members are urged to attend the East Riding planning meeting at County Hall, Beverley, on Thursday 7 December, 2pm. Its important to have a good turnout as planners take note of numbers of objectors. Hull Planning Committee has booked the City Hall for 8 January 2007. Speakers will be allowed 3 minutes each (must not repeat previous points). Hilary will check whether placards are allowed inside the Hall.

Film
Who Killed the Electric Car? to be shown at Hull Screen on 6/7 December, starting at 7 with various stalls/speakers, as for An Inconvenient Truth. Film to run at 7.30 pm .

Activists Ball 14 Dec 7pm-
Already 30 out of the total 60 tickets have been sold, and committee members booked a further 4. Guy asks for people to dress up ie posh or costume! Chrys will bring HFoE display of our activities.

CARGO
Chrys reported the best year yet for collections. The banked income from tag sales is 1,612.72, with the account balance (minus 1,000 transferred to the Ecology Building Society) at 2,637.68. Chrys is already a signatory on the Hull FoE/CARGO account at the Lloyds TSB, and asked to be included as a signatory to the Ecology BS account. This was agreed as appropriate, and Hilary offered to contact Carole to sort this out. She will bring a leaflet about the Ecology BS to the next meeting for our information.
The milk float is undergoing its annual maintenance at HCC Stockholm Road depot and they will repair the doors as well. Thanks to David for his maintenance work during the year, and to Sharon for collecting the money from the shops.

Gifts to Shops from CARGO
The committee signed cards for the shops selling the tags, and it was agreed that Chrys should spend some CARGO funds on boxes of chocolates (from Grain) for the shops as well.

Newsletter Deadlines
It was agreed that the meetings in Jan, April, July and Oct would be deadlines for articles.

Wyke Area Community Meeting
Haris reported on the recent meeting: lots of dissatisfaction with the present setup was expressed by community representatives attending. They particularly objected to the dissolution of the previous Wyke Area Partnership which they said was working well. A further meeting was promised, to try to resolve these issues. Haris pointed out that a government White Paper about devolving power to local communities was not being put into practice.

Ideas for Spending our Funds
It was suggested that we should spend some of the HFoE funds on:
1. Members attending a Regional Conference in Leeds on 13 Jan 07 (about 15 per person)
2. April residential weekend in Preston
3. Commission (perhaps from the University) a survey of public opinion on some relevant issue eg packaging, in order to have authoritative local information about this issue.
It was agreed that members should bring ideas for this to the next meeting.

Correspondence
FoE about the Regional Conference;
Hull Community Network a Forum on 15 Dec 9.30-2 at Endsleigh Centre

Roos Wind Farm it was not clear whether HFoE would support this project, and it was agreed that we needed more information. Members felt it was important that letters written giving the official HFoE viewpoint should be cleared with at least 2 members of the committee before publication.

Via email: a request for support from Richard Caley of East Riding council for our views on an application to build a straw-fired power station (see website: www.gb-bio.com)

It was agreed that David should write a letter of qualified approval, but that we needed to know more about the project. Members should access the plans on the East Riding website and discuss this in more detail at the next meeting. http://www.eastriding.giv.uk/publicaccess/dc/DcApplication/
and search under land East of Tansterne.

AOB
There is now a FoE online shop www.foe.co.uk/shop where members can get 20% discount on green books.

Members agreed that they would be interested in attending a Forum in Leeds organised by Jess Nolan, on waste issues. Haris agreed to ring Jess.
