White

In Freemasonry, as is the same for most of religious and quasi-religious institutions –
white represents innocence and new beginnings.

_________

In Twin Peaks there are many important uses of white.
There is the storyline of
The White Lodge.

As well, the white horse which appears to Sarah Palmer, Laura’s mother, before each murder –

“woe to the ones who behold the pale horse”(Episode Fifteen). Each time BOB, the evil spirit,
finds a host to perform a killing – it is a new beginning. Here we see the constant dualism in
the story of good and evil present in the same thing.

Also in the series, the hair of Leland Palmer, Laura’s father and murderer, turns from dark to snow
white shortly after his murders – showing Leland’s new beginning with BOB inside of him. (Episode Eighteen)
