All-Seeing Eye

The single all-seeing eye represents something to most institutions with religious dimensions.

For the Freemasons, it denotes the Great Architect – the creator, singular, in whatever form a Mason might perceive that to be.
In the
Lodge, it is the “all-seeing eye whom the sun, moon and stars obey.” (Zeldis, Internet)

___________

In Twin Peaks this single eye is present in a good/evil duality –
the architect of light and the architect of dark.

One Eyed Jacks is a gambling establishment just north of the Canadian border.
It is tied to the escort service for which Laura worked before her untimely death. (Lynch, 1990)
It is located on the
north west shore of Black Lake. (Koga, Internet)

___________

Big Ed’s Gas Station is in the ‘good’ camp – Ed Hurley plays the leader role in
The Bookhouse Boys. It is located between Twin Peaks and the Lower Town -
making it further south than One-Eyed Jacks. (Koga, Internet)
