Escapade Build Report

After we drilled the holes and clecoed the top of the windshield to the butt ribs, we fit the windshield to the boot cowl and drilled the holes.  We will use nuts and bolts here rather than rivets.

Here is a front view with some clecos holding the boot cowl and the windshield.  Next up is the side angle brackets.

In order to line up the windshield to drill the holes for the windshield angle brackets we had to pull the sides of the windshield back and then trace the line of the 4130 tubing on the windshield.  Then, we cut just to the inside of the line so that the windshield wouldn't bind when we slid the brackets on.  When we trimmed the side for the angle brackets, we took the whole piece of Lexan off so that we could clean up all the visible edges.  We had a little bit of extra overlap up by the butt ribs so we also evened those out with a file.

This picture is a little dark but it shows the windshield and doors fitted.  The windshield just needs the clecos removed and the rivets installed and it will be all set.
