Water in Mexico City is scarce but in the older parts of the city is by no means
unhealthy. The quality of water changes from each part of the city. The parts where I know the water to be contaminated is in Cd. Nezahualcóyotl (also known as Ciudad Neza) which is a extremelly populated suburb. The water in Mexico City in general of a good quality, however you may not be used to it and you may experience some stomach problems. Bottled water is common everywhere in Mexico at reasonable prices. Purified water is also used in restaurants.
