The local currency is the Mexican Peso, its value is stable and by February 2001 the exchange rate is 9.7 pesos for one
US dollar. Although some companies or small business may accept US dollars chances are that you will get a poor exchange rate. Other foreign currencies will not be accepted in any stablishment (besides exchange companies). Due to some fake bills many companies that do accept US dollars will only take small bills.
