"Mexico: The Last Magical Country" |
Check out the time it will take you from Mexico City to other cities nearby or other
important locations within Mexico. |
Showing the distances between cities will provide you with little information on
the time it takes to get there, there are roads with heavy traffic and roads with
little traffic, therefore I am presenting you with times rather than distances. Times by car are considering a reasonable speed per each road. |
| FROM MEXICO CITY TO: | BY CAR | BY PLANE |
| Acapulco | 4:00 hrs | 30 min |
| Taxco | 2:15 hrs | N/A |
| Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo | 7:00 hrs | 30 min |
| Queretaro | 3:00 hrs | 20 min |
| Cuernavaca | 50 min | N/A |
| Toluca | 45 min | N/A |
| Teptihuacán | 50 min | N/A |
| Can Cun | 26:00 hrs | 2:30 hrs |
| Tijuana | N/A | 3:15 hrs |
| Monterrey | 11:00 hrs. | 1:10 hrs |
| Guadalajara | 7:00 hrs | 50 min |
| Puebla | 2:30 hrs | 20 min (to Huejotzingo) |
| Veracruz | 4:00 hrs | 45 min |
The roads are fairly safe to travel but expect several mountains (and therefore curves).
The speed limit is not 65 MPH (105 km/h), it is typically 68 MPH (110 km/h)
and in some highways it is 80 MPH (130 km/h). Remember, it is as dangerous
to go too slow as it is to go fast. I am mentioned this because on 80 MPH roads
I have seen rental cars and US cars doing 55 MPH on the high speed lane!!!, GOING
TOO FAST OR GOING TOO SLOW IS DANGEROUS, PLEASE DRIVE SAFELY. In case of mechanical failure on the main high ways you may find solar energy emergency phones ans / or Free Mechanichal assistance in green Vans that drive the road constantly (locally known as "GREEN ANGELS"). You can algo buy a Road Atlas on line with Guia Roji. |
