Intellectualia
My Unity Project, which is still in development, was born of more than one impetus.

It is being created for a number of reasons:

1. To provide a context for artists, writers, and other creative types to feel free to revel in their medium, by holding deep convictions that there is a meaningful world out there, and that it is possible to create systems that use number as tools, rather than giving in to the belief that only numbers are true.

2. To accomodate the need for thinkers to have a metaphysics, and at the same time feel free to create their own systems of thought, and contending with popular opinions when necessary while developing those thoughts. To bridge the gap between science and religion, so that people have something to stand on.

3. As a way of explaining how I and others think, in a world in which thinking has been relegated to the realms of myth.

4. To legitimize my own suffering and uncertainty. To provide a foundation for my own creative work, as a poet and artist.

5. To contribute to the considerable capacity for a bright future for humanity.

6. To feel ready to raise children, even if they are not my own.

7. As a way of showing my debt to high culture.

8. As a matter of course, because I feel that I must complete the ring before I can take a step.
