The Four Corners of Accomplishment
Those who take possession of themselves and seek order in life may recognize �four corners� of accomplishment: Will, Process, Truth, and Ritual.
1. Willful acts are a matter of granting courage, and may take the form
of Poetry, Speech, or Composition/Music.
2. Process is a matter of creating something that has an independent
role in the world, and may take the form of Inventing, Forming a
business or organization, or Creating mindfully a place that serves a
social or ritual function.
3. Truth is a matter of reasoned argument or debate or creating new
possibilities for thought, and may involve Writing essays,
Pursuading others, or Awakening human potential (through art,
philosophy, literature, or a particular trade).
4. Ritual involves special acts of care and kindness, sharing symbols,
and warding against evil.
Marriage, Membership, New initiatives, Maintenance of the way of
things, and Resolve against harm are all cause for ritual.
Note also that each of the four corners may take a transcendent form.
Imagine an essay�a form of truth-making�that creates a ritual in the mind of the reader. By fulfilling a role in one corner to an exceptional degree, a particular act may lead to an appreciation of what it would mean to fill another corner.
The ritual of will, process and truth lead to the ritual for itself. The truth of will, process, and ritual lead to truth for itself. The process of will, truth, and ritual lead to process for itself. Finally the will of process, truth, and ritual, lead to will for itself.
