PHILOSOPHICAL ESSAYS BY NATHAN COPPEDGE

Concavity and the Absolute

"Everything is as inevitable as your mother tongue"

Essentially, to hold something any given thing must be concave. What this concavity consists of differs depending on the nature of the thing being contained. A shoe caves around a foot, veins cave around blood, and the universe caves around the perceiving mind.

Likewise, a thing's capacity is caved around its nature. The essence of a thing is at the center of its nature, and mostly has a capacity for nature. But the will is at the very outer rim of nature, and must act in the world. A great man would increase his nature not just through essence, but also through actions of will upon the world.

Will can be enacted in various ways, but its potential is defined purely by knowledge: sight. Sight is the line that radiates from the center, and exists at almost every dimension, because it defines what the dimensions are.

But there is one dimension that is blind, and it is the absolute. That eye only considers itself.
