Introduction

Hello dere! These are the sacred drug pages of CUBE. In here you'll find everything you ever wanted to know about everything that makes your head spin. As well as some excellent tips and, if you're lucky, maybe even a page on metaphysics by the master of metaphysics, Dr. Dan himself (hasn't appeared yet though).

What most of you are here for though is probably the GANJA section isn't it? Well you won't be dissapointed, there's more smoking tips in here than you could shake a wet halibut at (not that you should do of course). Not to mention the sciency bits, the pictures or the comprehensive rolling guide to every kind of joint on the planet.

On a more serious note though, you may have got the impression that I am a sort of pro-drugs person and while this may well be true (in the extreme) it should be noted that these pages are 100% factual. Nothing is fabricated, nothing is faked, missed out or exageratted, its all there so you can make you're own informed decisions.

(Please note that I do not endorse the taking of illegal drugs but do appreciate that some people will have the occasional spliff, the bloke below for example).

for sure

Basic Terms

Effects: Ultimately the intensity of the effects will be due to the dosage taken. However, there are many other factors involved from drug to drug. Things like tolerance, how much you've eaten, what you've eaten, your weight and even your surroundings can all make a difference. If you want to know the effects of a specific substance (and all the contributing factors and things) then visit the associated page from the menu thingy.

Dosage: Although this will dictate the strength of effects it is rare that the dosage will actually be know (especially for illegal drugs). What you get on the street can vary drastically, sometimes you get more than you thought, or less, or none at all, or something completely different. Pills are probably the worst things for knowing the dosage as they are more often than not, cut with all sorts of crap (not generally toxic stuff though because its bad for business if your pills kill off all your customers). That said, if your pill contains something you weren't expecting and you mix it with other pills and drugs and whatever, they can interact with each other which isn't good.

Drug Types

Drugs all work in different ways but there are a number of common effects between them all which allow us to stick them into classes. These classes aren't set or anything and some drugs overlap into more than one class but they can be useful anyway.

Stimulants: These are drugs which act on the CNS (Central Nervous System) to increase activity in certain areas of the brain. Essentially stimulants give the user an feeling of boundless energy (like drinking mounds of expresso coffee beans). Examples of stimulants are crack, cocaine, ecstasy, speed, nicotine and caffeine.

Depressants (Sedatives): Depressants decrease activity in certain parts of the brain. Too many or too much depressants is very dangerous as it can cause vital functions to cease (such as breathing), which is never good. Avoid taking more than one type of depressant (or narcotic) at a time because they generally have synergic effects (i.e. the effect of having both at once is stronger than the sum of the effects if taken separately) and sedating your brain too much is always a recipe for disaster. Examples of depressants are alcohol, GHB, solvents and tranquillizers.

Hallucinogens: This type of drug acts on the mind, connecting various parts of the brain together which normally are isolated from one another. This can cause an increase in the number of conscious thoughts, the number of memory recollections, a distortion of sensory perception (hallucinations) and possibly a interconnection between senses (like being able to smell the colour green). It is impossible to predict the effects of this type of drugs (particularly with a high dose), a profound sense of euphoria is possible as is a panic attack. The effects are very much dependant of the users mood and surroundings. Ketamine, LSD and Magic Mushrooms are all considered as hallucinogens.

Narcotics (Analgesics):  These are drugs which exhibit a painkilling effect. Opiates (like heroin) and dissociative anaesthetics (like ketamine and PCP)  are really the only drugs in this group. There are other drugs which are similar to narcotics because of their painkilling effect (such as depressants) but these effects are merely a side effect of sedating the brain. Whereas, with narcotics, painkilling is their primary effect. Avoid mixing with any other narcotics or depressants as the result is invariablly a trip to the local hospital and/or morgue.

Empathogens: Drugs such as these give the user a profound sense of well being and closeness to others. Reduced inhibitions and euphoria are also qualities of this type of drug. Ecstasy, 2CB and Cannabis exhibit these characteristics.

The Law

(Note this is British law NOT US law)

If the police have reason to suspect you're carrying illegal drugs they have the right to search you either where you are or down the local police station. Although it's illegal for them to perform a strip search in public (they have to take you down the station).

If drugs are found, you could be charged with one of 2 offences.

Possession: This is being caught with illegal drugs for your own use. The police have 3 options, a formal warning could be issued (this is put on local police files and could influence future punishment if you are caught again), a formal caution (this is put on central police record and held for 5 years) or they could charge you and take you to court.

Intent to Supply: This is for situations when you are suspected of dealing but you have not been caught red-handed. Intent to supply is an arrestable offence and the police have the same 3 options open to them as with possession but this time you're more likely to be charged. The sentence can be as high as supply if they can prove that you intended to deal it (Obviously a wallet full of cash and several bags of skag with names on isn't going to look good in your defence).

Supply: If you have been caught red-handed dealing drugs you are more likely to be charged. Decisions on whether or not you're charged are based on the circumstances you were caught and the quantity of drugs you were caught with. Supply also carries a greater maximum sentence.

If drugs are not found then they can't do anything, even if it's quite obvious you're fucked off your nut. (Although remember that they can still arrest you if you try to vandalise something or distress the public or something like that)

In Britain, drugs are divided up into three classes, each with its own maximum penalty:

Class A
Possession - 7 years imprisonment and/or a fine
Supply - Life imprisonment and/or a fine

Class B
Possession - 5 years imprisonment and/or a fine
Supply - 14 years' imprisonment and/or a fine

Class C
Possession - 2 years imprisonment and/or fine
Supply - 5 years imprisonment and/or fine

Some drugs (like Ketamine and GHB) are not included in any of these classes and are each handled differently.
