MAHOGANY TOWN
Fly back to Ecruteak City and proceed east. Surf across the water You will
ncounter the cave Mt. Mortar. Inside Mt. Mortar, if you had HM 6 Waterfall, you
would encounter a trainer who will give you
Tyrogue when you defeat him. Ensure that you have an empty pokemon slot.
On exiting the cave continue east until you arrive in Mahogany Town. Team
Rocket has overrun this town so you will have to deal with them before you can
enter the gym. Head north until you reach the Lake of Rage.
Surf out to the middle of the lake until you see a red gyarados. this is a
unique pokemon so try to capture it. After you
either capture it obtain the Red Scale. You can trade this
scale for an EXP Share from Mr. Pok�mon
After catching the red gyarados return to the shore and talk to Lance. He is the
new person standing by the sign. He will ask for your help to defeat the
Rockets. Then he will teleport away. Fly back to Mahogany Town and join him in
one of the smaller houses near the Pokemon Center.
Lance will show you the secret door
to Team Rocket's Hideout. There are many Team
Rocket members inside to battle. On the first level, every time you pass one of the
Statues two Team Rocket Grunts
will fight you. Defeat all the member on this floor and collect any items. Go
down to the next level.
Lance will be wating for you and he will heal your pokemon. Follow the path and
defeat all rocket member. This time however, make sure that you talk to all the Team Rocket members you defeat
because some of them will know passwords that open locked passages.
Follow the stairs until you get to the locked passage. You then see your Rival
but unfortunately he just talks and does not battle you. The passwords you got earlier will now get you into
the Executive's office. Defeat him and talk to the Murkrow by his desk to
receive the 2nd password, Hail Giovanni, which is for the room on the level above.
Now head back to the
2nd level and unlock the 2nd passage . After 2 Rocket
Executives will come and tries to double team you. Although you could have
handled both of them Lance intervenes battling one of them while you battle the
other. After their defeat they disappear from town and now it is time to shut
down the generator. Since there is no switch, you must battle the
three Electrode and either catch them, or make them faint. After defeating them
Lance will give you HM06 Whirlpool
Exit the hideout and head to the Gym. To get to the gym leader, you'll have to slide
along the correct ice paths The Gym Leader here is Pryce, the Ice Pokemon
