GOLDENROD CITY
Goldenrod City is a city similiar to celadon city. That is it's
extremely big. There are several things to do here and later on in the game you
would have to return.
Crystal: The Goldenrod City Mart has a new rooftop marketplace that has bargain sales. There's a trainer called
Camper Todd who appears right before you enter the city. Get his phone number,
and he'll call you when there's a bargain sale.
Now first things first, you should go to the pokemon center and heal your
pokemon. Also search for the bike shop on the east side of town and receive a
free bike. This will come in very handy for fast travel.
Proceed to the Radio Tower. Inside there is a lady at the far end of the counter. She will ask you five questions. if you answer all questions correctly she gives you a Radio Card for your Pok�Gear. The answers for her questions are: yes, yes, no, yes, no.
Crystal: Buena, the new radio host is located on the second floor. If you
talk to her you'll receive a Blue Card. Between 6 PM to 12 PM
she'll announce a password. If you go see her and tell her the password you'll
receive points. Trade in these points for prizes
Next, go to the underground tunnel. There are some trainers there and you should also find a Coin Case. Now take your case and go gambling at the Game Corner. While you're in the underground tunnel, you can also give your Pok�mon a haircut at the Pok�mon Salon. This will make your Pok�mon very happy. this service is particularly useful to evolve Pok�mon that only evolve because of their happiness level. A good example is evolving Chansey to Blissey.
Finally, it is time to go to the Goldenrod City Gym run by the "Normal
Type" Pok�mon trainer Whitney. Be warned she is tough to beat.

After you have won, Whitney will start to cry and won't give you the Plain Badge
at first. Go talk to the trainer below her and then talk to Whitney again.
She'll stop crying and give you the Plain Badge, which will let your Pok�mon
use Strength outside of battle
After exiting the gym, go to the building that is northeast of the gym and
talk to the girl there to get a Squirtbottle, which you will need
later on.
Crystal: When you talk to the girl inside the house, she'll tell you that
her little sister has gone off to check out the wiggling tree, and that it could
be dangerous. So you'll first have to talk to the little sister near the
wiggling tree, and come back to the house to receive the SquirtBottle.
You can return to the wiggling tree (really a pokemon called Sudowoodo), sprinkle water from the SquirtleBottle on it and then capture it. Note well that there is only one of this pokemon in the game so it you cause it to faint it's gone and you get a second chance to catch it.
Now that the battle is over, proceed directly to the right and talk to the big
guy there. He will give you TM08 Rock Smash in gratitude for getting rid
of the pesky "tree".
