BACK TO NEW BARK TOWN
Make your way back to Cherrygrove City. You can visit this city's Pok�mon Centre if needed. Just before you leave town, you will run into a young man with red hair. He will be your rival. He has stolen one of Elm's Pok�mon. His Pok�mon will be the one that beats your Pok�mon elementally. If you chose Cyndaquil, he'll have a Totodile. If you chose Totodile, he'll have a Chikorita. And if you chose Chikorita, he'll have a Cyndaquil. The battle would be easy because although his Pok�mon has the advantage it knows only basic attacks and no special moves. Also with some training, your Pok�mon should be at a higher level than your rival's.
After you have won, continue to Professor's Elm's Lab. When
you go to the Lab again, Elm and a police officer will be waiting for you. The
officer will tell you of someone stealing one of Elm's Pok�mon and then allows
you to name your rival. Elm will then take the Egg for a
time to study it. On your way out, Elm's Aide will give you 5 Poke Balls so you
can start catching Pok�mon. Now on to Violet City
