Part 3 - Identities

This tab sets the global details (i.e. those used unless otherwise specified in the Servers - Custom tab) that are displayed when posting with Xnews.


Xnews Setup - Identities

All the entries for this tab have the same function as those on the Servers - Custom tab. Additional functions are described below.

Identities Buttons

New: Click this to create a new identity. This allows a completely separate set of details to be entered for Name, E-Mail etc.

Clone: This creates a new identity with the same value as the currently-selected one. Useful if you only need to change one or two values.

Delete: Deletes the currently-selected identity.

A separate identity may be useful if you want to post with a different persona to different servers.

Server-specific identities should be set in the 'Identity to use with this server' field on the 'Servers - Basic' tab.
