PICTURES OF THE JEWISH LEGION IN ACTION:

Jewish Legion K9-Unit

Only A few weeks after the first volunteers and dogs were sent to Israel, members of the Jewish Legion's K9 Unit showed off their skills.  In this night-time exercise which mimicked real-life conditions of previous infiltrations, the Jewish Legion showed how their dogs could be used to take down infiltrators before they could cause harm to civilians or soldiers.

“These dogs can spot approaching terrorists in a matter much better then we can”
             - IDF Local Area Commander

The exercise which took place during April, was observed by IDF soldiers stationed in the area, and won over the support of these soldiers including one local commander whose responsibility is to defend the settlements

Look at the following images and their description on the right-hand side to understand the amazing defensive weapons that these dogs can be in defending the Jewish people..

On a routine perimeter security patrol, the van stops after the dog alerts it of danger (Note: These highly trained dogs, can smell and hear things that are not humanely possible for soldiers). The JL dog-handler quickly deploys the dog, as the driver radios for IDF backup, which will take several minutes to arrive.

Note: All pictures have been digitally brightened for easier viewing.

In this shot,  after spotting the would be infiltrator, (look at center-height, straight above the 4) the dog is already hurtling at great speeds. Note the time in the right-hand corner, which shows only 3 seconds elapsed, since being taken out of the patrol truck
The dog is within feet of the infiltrator, (note this frame occurred less then a second after the previous frame, which the infiltrator was not in) without giving the terrorist any chance to react, or retreat behind bushes. Unlike a soldier, who must take cover, and experiences indecision and fear in such instances, the dogs have been trained to subdue infiltrators, and do not think of the dangers.
The dog leaps for the legs of the terrorist, in order to knock him off balance. Coming at the speed they are, not even the strongest person could resist.
The terrorist falls down to the ground. The dog continues to subdue the terrorist, going after the hands of the terrorist, ensuring that any weapon is dropped. In the meantime, troops and volunteers have the opportunity of getting into position to make an arrest, or if deemed to dangerous to fire and kill the terrorists. (If a suicide belt or grenades are spotted, as have been in similar infiltrations, standard procedure is shoot to kill)

Note: The entire operation took only seconds. In previous terrorist infiltrations, it took minutes after spotting the terrorist, to eliminate the threat, causing the death toll to be higher, then it would be if K9-units would be on guard.

The end result is clear, lives saved! Both civilian, and the soldiers who would have to engage the attacker.

Many lives could have been saved, close to 40 Jews, including women, children and even babies sleeping in their cribs have been slaughtered (this does not include the more then a hundred Jews who have been killed on roads, which will also have added patrols thanks to the JL)  you can help stop it!
