Most Southerly city on the South Island. I spent one night here in one of the nicest hostels in which I have ever stayed, a real home from home. I spent the limited time that I had in the city itself looking around the centre, walking in Queens Park, (which has a very nice rose garden), and exploring the Southland Museum at the Visitor Information Centre.
