Christmas Day in Rotorua

Travelling

Currency.
This is the most southerly of the main islands. I had two reasons for wanting to visit Stewart Island, the first was that I wanted as near as possible to travel New Zealand from its furthest North to its furthest South, and secondly, I wanted to visit Ulva Island, whose main pupose nowadays is dedicated to the conservation of and increase of the numbers of threatened species, especially the bird that is the New Zealand emblem, the Kiwi.
I would not see a kiwi on Ulva island, even though they are there, but I did later see two in Rotorua.

It rained for much of my time on Stewart Island (two days) This picture,  taken using a digital camera, of Oban Jetty on Stewart Island, was one of the last taken before the rain managed to get into the camera and ruin it. From then on it was my 35 mm camera that took the remainder
of the many photographs that I took whilst in New Zealand.
